STEERING FAILURE AFTER ACCIDENT! 1991 DODGE B250 AMERICAN LIBERTY CONVERSION VAN 5.2L (318 V-8) CRUISE CONTROL, TILT WHEEL, AIR, POWER WINDOWS, LOCKS, AUTOMATIC WITH OVER DRIVE. AFTER I WAS IN AN ACCIDENT I TURNED OFF THE MOTOR TO SEE HOW BAD THE DAMAGE WAS TO MY VAN AND THE OTHER CAR. AFTER THE POLICE ARRIVED ON SCENE WE WANTED TO MOVE THE CARS. WITHOUT POWER STEERING OR THE MOTOR RUNNING WE TURNED THE WHEEL ONLY TO HAVE IT SNAP! I DON'T KNOW IF IT WAS FAULTY OR NOT BUT ALL I COULD THINK AFTER THE ACCIDENT WAS WHAT IF IT HAD HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING 70MPH DOWN I-75! THE ODOMETER IS STUCK AT 59,778 MILES IT HAS BEEN THAT WAY SINCE I BOUGHT THE VAN. *TR

WHEN ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A SLIGHT TURN STEERING HAD TO BE TURNED TO A CERTAIN DEGREE BEFORE THE VEHICLE WOULD SHOW ANY RESPONSE. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER, WHO INDICATED THAT GEAR BOX WAS NOT FUNCTIONING. *AK
