THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THEY DIAGNOSED THE FAILURE AS THE MULTI-FUNCTION SWITCH. THE SWITCH WAS REPLACED IN OCTOBER OF 2002 BY THE MANUFACTURER. TH…

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. ON OCTOBER 22, 2008, WHILE STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT, THE CONTACT NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM THE STEERING WHEEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THEY DIAGNOSED THE FAILURE AS THE MULTI-FUNCTION SWITCH. THE SWITCH WAS REPLACED IN OCTOBER OF 2002 BY THE MANUFACTURER. THE DEALER WILL REPLACE THE MULTI-FUNCTION SWITCH AT THE COST OF $430. A REPORT WAS FILED WITH THE MANUFACTURER. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THEY WOULD NOTIFY THE DEALER. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 49,000.
