The stereo screen face failed, with warning signs in foreign languages. An inspection was completed and it was confirmed that the module behind the screen attempted to update and burned out. When this system update failed it continued to run power resulting in a dead battery. luckily there was another vehicle around to jump start the vehicle but if someone is out of cell service or doesn't have a jump box serious issues can arise. There are many cases of this happening online with other GMC products. A dealership has confirmed the module burned out. A claim has been filled with GM customer service but no investigations have occurred. Nothing came up until after the battery died and the screen failed after the vehicle was jumped.

This is a safety issue as it does not show blind spot monitoring, heads up display, lane change warnings, allow hands free calling, gps, and much more. None of the safety features are available with a trailer hookup as well. We have taken it to a certified Chevrolet dealer who has said the truck was the 6th one that they have placed an order for in just over a week. The infotainment system is currently on back order which makes operating the vehicle concerning with its proper safety features.

My key refuses to come out of the ignition caused by a parking sensor is what Chevy told me. I feel it is a safety hazard because I have to leave my truck idling and take the risk of the truck not registering it’s in park and moving on its.
