2026 Chevrolet Silverado 2500

I am reporting a serious and extremely concerning brake failure involving my 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 Diesel. Traffic ahead of me began to slow down. I saw the traffic slowing and immediately began applying the brakes to slow my vehicle. Although I was pressing the brake pedal, the truck was not slowing or stopping as it should have. When I realized the vehicle was not going to stop, I pressed the brake pedal as hard as I possibly could. The brake pedal went completely down to the floor, yet the vehicle still failed to stop, resulting in a collision. I want to be very clear: I saw traffic slowing, I applied the brakes, and when the truck failed to respond properly, I applied maximum pressure to the brake pedal. Despite this, the brake pedal traveled all the way to the floor and the vehicle did not stop. Because of the seriousness of the incident and our concern regarding the braking system, we had the vehicle towed from the scene rather than driving it. This was an extremely dangerous incident involving a 2026 vehicle. A braking system that fails to respond when the driver is actively attempting to stop presents a serious safety concern and could result in severe injury or death. I am requesting that this incident be formally documented and thoroughly investigated as a potential vehicle safety defect. I also request that all relevant vehicle data, diagnostic information, braking-system data, and electronic crash data related to this incident be preserved and reviewed.

The contact stated that while driving at various speeds at night, the low beam and high beam headlights were extremely dim, reducing the roadway visibility while driving during the rain. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, but the vehicle was not diagnosed. The contact was informed that the headlights were functional. The vehicle was not repaired. There is an incredible reliance on navigation and communication while driving. This and many other vehicles have intermittent disconnects to CarPlay This causes inattentive decisions while attempting to reconnect. I have personally had two trips to dealership with no resolution numerous photos showing loss of communication with vehicles main information center.

The transmission malfunctioned 4 times in the first 3 weeks of ownership. Once on the way home from the dealer, but I could not return as they were closing when I picked up my new 2026 Silverado 2500HD pick up. It has 2 issues so far since that ride home, 2 times, on separate occasions, I was approaching a red light and slowing down when the light changed while I was in a slow speed, so I accelerated to get to the speed limit, while doing so, the truck hesitated for a couple of seconds then banged into gear. The second time for that same scenario was several days after resulting in the same hesitation and then bang into gear. No warning lights were reveled. I called the local Chevy dealership, as instructed by the dealership I purchased it from was 107 miles away, they gave me an appointment to investigate the problem. Upon arriving, I needed to back up to align my vehicle with the entrance to the service area and my truck would not go into reverse. I tried 2 times shifting from park to reverse and nothing, I put it back into park while still running and went into the service area explaining my new issue, the service writer got a mechanic and he tried shifting into park with no luck. He then shut off the engine, waited about 30 seconds, restarted the engine and shifted into reverse and it worked. They checked for codes and none were present, so they test drove it for about 20 minutes, did not experience either symptom and email GM service assistance and were told to have me come back and they would check the parameters and make sure the software was updated as well as the transmission fluid level and condition. I returned for them to accomplish those tasks and drove home, 2 miles, and had no issues till the trip I was going on today, I warmed up the vehicle as it was only 37 degrees today and when I put it in reverse, it did not engage, so I shifted into drive, it engaged then I put it in reverse and it did finally engage. Now I'm going to renotify the dealership

However, the vehicle was not diagnosed because the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure while performing an additional test drive. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 1,100.
