THE VEHICLE WAS REAR ENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. DRIVER'S SEAT DISCONNECTED FROM BOLT THAT WAS ATTACHED TO FLOOR, SEAT DID NOT HOLD, AND CONSUMER HIT STEERING WHEEL SEVERAL TIMES. *AK THE SEAT FRAME WAS WELDED AFTER IT BROKE DURING LOW IMPACT COLLISION. *YH
DRIVER'S SIDE SEATBACK BOLT BROKE UNEXPECTEDLY WHICH CAUSED SEAT TO RECLINE. RECALL 96E010000 WAS DONE 1996, AND SEAT BROKE AGAIN IN THE SAME EXACT WAY AS DESCRIBED IN RECALL. MANUFACTURER WILL NOT COVER THE COST OF THE REPAIR. *AK *ML
WHILE DRIVING UP HILL DRIVER'S SEAT WOULD GO BACKWARDS ON THE TRACK. DOES NOT HAPPEN WHEN STOPPING OR GOING DOWNHILL. THE LEFT FRONT TRACK IS BROKEN. PROBLEM IS GETTING WORSE. TAKING VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP TO HAVE MECHANIC CHECK. *AK

I FOUND THE PROBLEM TWO MONTHS AFTER PURCHASE. WENT ON A TRIP AND AS WE NEVER MOVED THE SEATS I FORGOT ABOUT. I TOOK IT INTO THE DEALER FOR A RECALL ON SEAT RECLINER, TOLD THEM ABOUT IT, NO CONCERN. TOOK IT BACK FOR ANOTHER RECALL ON BRAKE SWITCH. THEY TOLD ME THE SEAT RISERS ON BOTH SIDES FRONT WERE WORN OUT, A BAD DESIGN SENCE 1994 TO 96 AFTER THAT A NEW SEAT RISER DESIGN WAS INSTALLED IN NEW TRUCKS. NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM BEFORE IN ANY VECHILE. MUST BE A BAD DESIGN. IS NOW DANGEROUS AS SLIDES FORWARD WHEN BREAKING, PASS SIDE, DRIVERS SIDE HOLDS BUT IS LOOSE AND SAME CONDITION, THANK YOU. THE OFFICE OF DEFECTS INVESTIGATION HAS RECEIVED 375 REPORTS ALLEGING FAILURE OF THE DRIVER'S SEAT FRAME WHICH IS PRONE TO BREAKAGE AT THE LEFT FRONT ATTACHING POINT.WHEN THIS OCCURS, THE SEAT MAY TILT AWAY FROM THE RISER DURING ACCELERATING OR BRAKING.(SEE CLOSING REPORT)
