AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC STATED THAT THE STEERING SHAFT SNAPPED OFF INSIDE THE STEERING. HE FURTHER STATED THAT THIS FAILURE WAS COMMON FOR THIS SPECIFIC MAKE AND MODEL VEHICLE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE LESS THAN 111,000.
