The contact owns a 2024 Chevrolet Equinox equipped with Continental Tires, Tire Line: Crosscontact RX, Tire Size: 275/40/R21, DOT Number: IVY03HFMJ0224. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the contact briefly felt violent vibrations coming from the vehicle before the vehicle suddenly veered sharply to the right, slightly leaving the roadway, resulting in damage to the passenger’s side front wheel and tire. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who diagnosed the vehicle with an unstated failure with the tires. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was 82,045.

The contact owns a 2024 Chevrolet Equinox equipped with Hankook Tires, Tire Line: Kinergy GT, Tire Size: 235/50/R19, DOT Number 00T231BH03623. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, there was vibration coming from the vehicle, and the contact became aware that the stopping distance was extended while coming to a stop on wet roads. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local tire shop, where it was determined that all four tires needed to be replaced due to premature wear. The contact stated that the wear marker was visible on all the tires. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact called the manufacturer and was referred to the tire manufacturer, who advised the contact that the tires were manufactured as requested by the manufacturer. The failure mileage was 25,316.
General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2024 Chevrolet Blazer, Blazer EV, Equinox, and GMC Terrain vehicles. The door strikers may fracture, resulting in the door opening unexpectedly.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A door opening while the vehicle is being driven can increasing the risk of injury or a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will replace all four door strikers and attaching bolts, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 24, 2024. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 and GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is N232429911.
