I am reporting an authorized manufacturer franchise dealer for actively refusing to remedy a federal safety recall and unlawfully withholding my vehicle. My vehicle is a 2019 Alfa Romeo Stelvio (VIN: [Insert VIN]), which is subject to the active Fuel Pump Safety Recall (NHTSA Campaign 25V586000 / Manufacturer Recall Code 93C). The vehicle has been physically located at Southern Alfa Romeo of Norfolk ([XXX]) for approximately 18 months. The dealership service management has explicitly stated that they will not perform the mandatory safety recall remedy, nor will they release my vehicle to a flatbed towing company, until an unrelated $5,000 civil dispute involving a loaner car is paid out of pocket. By conditioning a federal safety mandate and the physical custody of my vehicle on a separate civil debt, this dealership is violating the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act (49 U.S.C. The contact owns a 2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio. While the contact’s wife was driving at an undisclosed speed, another motorist informed the driver that there was smoke coming from under the hood of the vehicle. The vehicle was immediately parked and failed to restart. The contact was called to the scene and inspected under the hood of the vehicle and discovered smoldering and melted wires. The vehicle was later towed to the local dealer, who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the chassis-to-engine grounding strap had failed due to corrosion and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer and dealer were made aware of the failure but offered no assistance. The failure mileage was 54,000.

My vehicle has been subject of multiple recalls, however the current recall is a significant one and has been pending for months with no end in sight. I am concerned The manufacturer and dealers are not taking this seriously and the delay is causing additional damage to my vehicle. Additionally quickly googling my vehicle will show that it has fuel pump and acceleration jerking and lag issues that are extremely, extremely, common and troubling. I am also still having the service engine soon issues described in recalls and other forums related to throttle cable. Either none of this has been addressed by the manufacturer or the repairs so far have not been sufficient if it is still so common. On behalf of all Stelvio owners I demand these recalls and issues be addressed in a timely manner. This is going to cost us additional grief, safety issues, and repair costs. The biggest being my safety and my family's safety when we are riding in this vehicle, the acceleration issues are very noticeable and are getting worse. The symptoms are -exactly-what is described online and also as part of the recall. I don't even have the option to get it fixed there is no parts to fix available. This is a very nice vehicle, but this is getting old not having repairs done and the dealers running out of parts etc. Waiting months and months for repairs. - Fiat, Alfa Romeo and their dealerships do not seem to be taking this seriously - at all, they should have pride in their products like the owners do when we buy them. I want my Stelvio to be the best it can be, fully safe, and fully functional.

I was driving and the car gave an error showing service throttle position. Car went into limp mode. I pulled over out of traffic. Car drove but very slow. I tried to drive back home but the car died while I was in the turning lane. It would not start again. I used my autel scanner and received codes, p01ca, p008a, p00c6, p0300, p0303, p0302. I believe it is the fuel pump and fuel pump module causing the car issues. I believe it is the 93c recall for this car. It would have been very unsafe if I was driving on the highway and this happen. The car is currently at Champion Alfa dealership. I’m waiting for the service department to get back to me. I hope the dealership or Alfa Romeo will cover the repairs cost since it is a pending recall.

The issue began around 42,000 miles and occurred while the vehicle was covered under a Mopar Maximum Care warranty. There have been four repair attempts for the same issue. The problem was initially misdiagnosed as a headlight issue, but was later determined to involve the Body Control Module (BCM). I was also initially told this repair was not covered under warranty, which was later determined to be incorrect. Despite repairs, the issue has persisted. The vehicle also has an open recall with no available remedy. This creates a serious safety concern, as failure of headlights, brake lights, and turn signals increases the risk of an accident. November 26th my car went into LOMP mode. But then restored itself. December 3rd my car went into LOMP mode again and had not recovered along with a slew of ALARMS. I have been using uber and rental cars since this issue. Highly likely this is a fuel pump issue but unable to determine as the authorized shop is 2hours away and the car will not make it there. I need a remedy I have been out of a car for months now and the recall has no remedy!

When the vehicle is exposed to very hot or very cold temperatures, the Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) warning light illuminates, along with the check engine light and the auto stop-start warning light. When this occurs, the vehicle begins to sputter and loses power. It will not properly a-ccelerate and significantly reduces speed while driving. This creates a serious safety hazard, especially in traffic or at highway speeds. A sudden loss of power or inability to accelerate could easily result in a collision, potentially causing serious injury or death. There is currently no remedy available for this recall, yet the vehicle remains in operation on public roads. I do not feel the vehicle is safe to drive under these conditions. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this issue further and require the manufacturer to provide an immediate and effective remedy. The vehicle has an open and unresolved safety recall under Recall Number 25V-586 / Manufacturer Recall 93C relating to the fuel delivery module (FDM), which poses a risk of engine shutdown and potential crash without warning. According to the notice, no remedy is currently available, yet I continue to experience serious electrical problems that align with the warning signs outlined. Specifically, my headlights have been flickering on and off while driving, creating hazardous conditions—this occurred again as recently as January 26, 2026. These issues are not isolated. I have evidence via Carfax history that the vehicle had documented electrical problems dating back to 2019. Despite notifying FCA (now Stellantis) and being offered a low-value settlement ($4,000), I formally rejected that offer due to the unresolved safety risks, recall status, and prior documented issues. I contacted Alfa Romeo of Brandon (FL) several times to schedule an inspection and request a temporary vehicle as recommended by FCA. My service advisor, Lenny Patram, confirmed that the remedy is not yet available and advised me to wait for further notice. Despite expressing safety concerns, I was told that no loaner or temporary vehicle could be provided. This situation puts my safety and the safety of others at risk. The recall notice specifically warns that a fuel leak could lead to a fire, yet I have been advised to continue parking the vehicle outside and avoid driving it if possible. I rely on this vehicle for daily transportation and have not been offered any safe alternative or clear timeframe for repair. In addition to the recall, my check engine light has been on for several weeks, and the “A!” warning light appears intermittently. These indicators began appearing after I received the recall notice and may be related to the same underlying defect. The dealer has not inspected the vehicle because parts are unavailable. The issue has not been reviewed by the manufacturer, insurance, or any third party. The vehicle is currently at my residence and available for inspection upon request.
