2023 Zhongmao Boat Trailer

I ordered a boat trailer kit online from a US business April 9, 2025. I was sent the kit that had mostly all used and or defective parts. I requested replacement parts for the wheel axle, wheels, and hubs from the seller and from his manufacturer in China. Both the seller and the manufacturing company required me to agree via e-mail to not ask for more parts in their e-mail response. I again received used and defective parts. I decided to build the trailer as I had no other options and hope things would work okay. When I was ready to haul the trailer for the first time, I became concerned and so did not haul it after all. I contacted NHSTA and worked with Office of Vehicle Safety and Compliance Automotive Enforcement Investigator The NHSTA reviewed my concerns, seller communication, and pictures of parts. He directed me to submit a complaint to your department addressing: Poorly re-welded wheel axle Dried out and brittle electrical wire insulation Used wheel hubs with rust/rusted bolts, dirty grease, rusting wheels These issues can potentially cause a road accident, fire, or by the axle breaking, worn bearings, and electrical wires exposed to water.
