The contact called on behalf of a client who owns a 2024 Apollo Street Bike. The contact called on behalf of a client who owns a 2024 Apollo Street Bike. The contact stated that while his client was sitting on the motorcycle with a hand on the throttle, he pressed the button for Rocket Mode simultaneously with the blue button on the brake lever on the handlebar. The contact stated that there was a defect that was not disclosed in the Owner’s Manual if the blue button on the mode and the brake lever on the handlebar were pressed simultaneously, the engine would not disengage. The engine engaged and the motorcycle took off and crashed into the wall. The motorcycle was moving at an undisclosed speed. The contact also stated that there was no kill switch on the motorcycle. There was no warning light illuminated. The client fractured his neck in several places. The client was taken to the hospital for medical attention. The client became a paraplegic from the crash and was suffering from severe emotional distress. A Police report was not filed. The client was presently receiving rehabilitation due to the crash. The motorcycle was taken to the attorney for preservation and had not been repaired, pending an investigation. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 1. The VIN was invalid. The contact stated there’s an error in the type of motorcycle it's a Beta Explorer electric motorcycle. It is not an Apollo.
