THE 2007 YAMAHA YZF-R1 HAS TWO ISSUES THAT HAVE COME TO MY ATTENTION. FIRST, THERE IS A LAG IN THE 2ND GEAR MAPPING THAT SIGNIFICANTLY DECREASES HORSEPOWER AT 5500 RPM WHEN THE THROTTLE IS OPENED. SECOND, THERE HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS INSTANCES OF THE REAR SETS (THE HARDWARE WHERE YOUR FEET REST) CRACKING. BOTH IF THESE ITEMS ARE …
