THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE REAR WHEEL BEARINGS WERE REPLACED. IN ADDITION, THE REAR ARM WAS REPLACED IN ORDER TO PERFORM THE REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT…

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 YAMAHA XVS950A MOTORCYCLE. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH WHEN THE REAR WHEEL SEIZED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE REAR WHEEL BEARINGS WERE REPLACED. IN ADDITION, THE REAR ARM WAS REPLACED IN ORDER TO PERFORM THE REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 19,866. UPDATED 08/28/12*LJ THE CONSUMER STATED THE FRONT FORKS, FUEL LINE, AND REAR WHEEL ASSEMBLY ALL HAD FAILURES AND NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. YAMAHA DID PAY FOR THE REPAIR COST OF THE SWING ARM, LEAVING THE CONSUMER WITH A BALANCE OF 644.42 FOR REPAIR COST. UPDATED 09/05/2012 *JS
