YAMAHA HAS A DEFECTIVE 3RD GEAR ISSUE WITH THE XV1900 MOTORCYCLES IN THE YEARS 2006 AND 2007. MY THIRD GEAR STARTED GRINDING DURING NORMAL OPERATION, WHICH MAKES IT TOO DANGEROUS TO DRIVE ANY LONGER, AS MAINTAINING SPEED IS NO LONGER POSSIBLE. THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM THAT YAMAHA HAS NOT ISSUED A SAFETY RECALL FOR YET. I HAVE A FRIEND WITH THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM WITH HIS 06 ROADLINER. THIS ISSUE WAS DUE TO DEFECTIVE PARTS AND NOT DUE TO ABUSE OR NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR.
