The contact owns a 1978 Yamaha 750 equipped with Continental Tires, Tire line: ContiGo. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22T006000 (Tires) informing the contact to register on the Manufacturer’s website for the recall repair. However, the contact had been receiving error messages while attempting to submit the recall repair registration form. The local dealer was not contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. The VIN was not available.
THE SHIFT CAM STOPPER BOLT LOCK TAB ON THE INVOLVED VEHICLES MAY NOT PREVENT THE STOPPER BOLT FROM LOOSENING. THIS COULD ALLOW THE SHIFT DRUM TO MOVE LATERALLY.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: Not supplied
Remedy: THE DEALER WILL INSTALL AN IMPROVED LOCK TAB THAT WILL STOP THE STOPPER BOLT FROM LOOSENING, WITHOUT CHARGE TO OWNER.
