NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 99V013000. ALTHOUGH THE PROBLEM HAS SLIPPED THROUGH THE CRACKS THE MFG SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO AT THE VERY LEAST REPLACE THE REAR AXLE WITH ONE OVER THE CORRECT CAPACITY AS FLEETWOOD WAS REQUIRED TO DO. *TR UPDATED 03/19/10

Power Train
AXLE ON THE MOTOR HOME (DANA 80) IS UNDERSIZED FOR WEIGHT OF THE VEHICLE RESULTING IN PREMATURE WEAR OF THE BEARINGS IN THE DIFFERENTIAL UNIT. MJS
THE SPARE TIRE CARRIER HOIST COMPONENTS CAN BECOME LOOSE WHILE TRAVELING AND ALLOW THE SPARE TIRE TO MOVE FROM ITS STORED POSITION TO THE ROAD SURFACE.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: THE SPARE TIRE CAN CONTACT THE ROAD SURFACE INCREASING THE RISK OF A VEHICLE CRASH OR PROPERTY DAMAGE TO THE FOLLOWING VEHICLES.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL ADD A PRIMARY SPARE TIRE SUPPORT BRACKET.
