Aug 23, 1978

THE BLOWER MOTOR MOUNTING BRACKETS ON THE INVOLVED VEHICLES MAY DEFORM DURING INSTALLATION. IF THE BRACKETS ARE DEFORMED, THE BLOWER WHEEL MAY RUB AGAINST THE BLOWER HOUSING CAUSING AN UNUSUAL STARTING LOAD ON THE MOTOR AND A RESULTING INCREASE IN ELECTRICAL CURRENT WHICH CAN CAUSE THE MOTOR TO STALL. THE SURGE OF ELECTRICAL CURRENT CAN CAUSE THE RESISTOR, WHICH IS PART OF THE LOAD, TO OVERHEAT AND POSSIBLY EXPLODE.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: Not supplied

Remedy: DEALER WILL INSPECT AND, IF NECESSARY, REPLACE ANY DEFORMED MOUNTING BRACKETS. THE BRACKET INSTALLATION WILL BE CHECKED TO ENSURE THAT IT DOES NOT CONTACT THE BLOWER WHEEL.
