The contact owned a 2024 Volvo S90 MHEV. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 45 MPH with a rear seat passenger, there was smoke coming from the engine compartment. The contact owned a 2024 Volvo S90 MHEV. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 45 MPH with a rear seat passenger, there was smoke coming from the engine compartment. The contact pulled the vehicle over to the side of the road, and the vehicle immediately caught on fire. The contact and the passenger exited the vehicle safely and notified the fire department. The fire department responded and extinguished the fire. The vehicle was towed from the scene and deemed a total loss. The contact was unsure if a fire department report was filed. A police report was not filed. No injuries were reported. The dealer was notified of the failure and went to inspect the vehicle; however, it was unknown if the vehicle was diagnosed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and filed a case. The failure mileage was approximately 55,000.
