AFTER 17,500 MILES,I HEARD SCRAPING NOISES FROM THE REAR WHEEL THAT WOULD EVENTUALLY DISAPPEAR WHEN RIDING THE BIKE FROM A COLD START. NOTICED SLIGHT WIGGLE WHEN LEANING INTO TURNS AT 60 MPH. I PLACED THE BIKE ON A LIFT AND WAS ABLE TO MOVE THE REAR TIRE SIDE TO SIDE WITH MY HANDS. I EVENTUALLY TOOK THE BIKE TO MY DEALER TO HAVE THE REAR RIM CHECKED OUT. I WAS TOLD THAT NOT ONLY DID THE REAR BEARING FAIL ON DRIVE SIDE, BUT IT GALLED OUT THE ALUMINUM FACE INSIDE THE RIM RENDERING IT USELESS. AS A RESULT, NO BEARINGS COULD BE INSTALLED UNLESS A NEW RIM WAS PURCHASED. A NEW RIM WAS PURCHASED ON 11/14/04. THE ORIGINAL RIM WAS DISPOSED OF BY THE DEALER AT MY REQUEST. *AK
