THE CONSUMER RECEIVED A RECALL REGARDING THE FUEL PUMP ON NOVEMBER 23,2002. THE CONSUMER MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE DEALER. THE FIRST TIME THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN FOR REPAIRS THE DEALER INDICATED THAT NOT PARTS WERE AVAILABLE. FOR THE LAST THREE MONTHS THE PART HAS NOT BEEN AVAILABLE. THE DEALER ALSO STATED THE THEY DIDN'T HAVE TIME TO FIX THE MOTORCYCLE. (MANGER NAME IS [XXX]). *NLM THE PART FOR THE RECALL HAS BEEN MADE AVAILABLE AS OF 01/31/03. ON CERTAIN MOTORCYCLES, THE FUEL PUMP CAN FAIL.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: THIS COULD CAUSE POOR ENGINE PERFORMANCE AND POSSIBLE ENGINE STALLING, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT AND REPLACE THE FUEL PUMPS. OWNER NOTIFICATION IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN DURING NOVEMBER 2002. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT VICTORY AT 1-763-417-8650.
