The contact owns a 2012 Ural Gear Up. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V431000 (Wheels) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stopped riding the motorcycle due to the side-car due to cracks in the rims. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

Wheels
One rim (April 2011 mfg date) was replaced under earlier recall. It and 2 others have cracked down the center at the spoke hole. One was what could be considered a potentially catastrophic failure, and would have resulted in a accident.
Irbit Motorworks of America, Inc. (Irbit) is recalling certain 2012-2017 Ural Gear Up, Ural Patrol (T), Ural Retro, 2012-2015 Ural Tourist (T), and 2015-2017 Ural cT motorcycles. The wheel spokes may have been improperly tightened, which can damage the rims or cause a wheel lock-up.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: Damaged rims or a wheel lock-up can increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the wheel rims, spokes, tubes, and rim strips, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 17, 2022. Owners may contact Irbit customer service at 1-425-702-8484. This recall excludes wheel rims previously replaced by warranty and/or under NHTSA Recall No. 13V-507.
Irbit Motorworks of America, Inc. (Irbit) is recalling certain model year 2012 Ural Gear-up, Patrol, Patrol T, Tourist, and Tourist T motorcycles with sidecars produced June 2, 2012, through October 25, 2012. The aluminum rims manufactured in April 2012 were improperly heat treated which could result in cracked, split or broken rims.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: The failure of a rim may result in a wheel lock up, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Irbit will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the motorcycles and replace any aluminum rims manufactured in April 2012, free of charge. The recall began on November 2013. Owners may contact Irbit Motorworks at 1-425-702-8484.
