The contact owns a 2004 Triumph Thruxton equipped with Continental Tires, Tire Line: ContiGo!, Tire Size: P130/80/17, DOT Number: H669DDE. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22T006000 (Tires) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

ON CERTAIN MOTORCYCLES, THERE MAY BE A POOR WELD ON THE REAR SUSPENSION UNIT BODY.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: FAILURE OF THE REAR SUSPENSION UNIT MAY COMPROMISE THE STABILITY OF THE MOTORCYCLE WHICH COULD RESULT IN A CRASH.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE REAR SUSPENSION UNITS. THE RECALL BEGAN ON DECEMBER 20, 2004. OWNERS SHOULD CONTACT TRIUMPH AT 1-678-854-2010.
