2021 Toyota Venza Hybrid

Pulling into a parking spot (under 5 mpg), brakes did not engage. Car drove up onto the sidewalk. Had to put car into reverse to avoid hitting the building. While in reverse, brakes would not engage as well had to turn off the vehicle to stop it after it hit the curb 20ft behind the vehicle. Had vehicle towed to the dealership. They could see where the brakes were engaged 3x, but could not replicate the issue. Although there was snow, ground was not icy or slippery.

Headlights: They have a shadow blocking full view. They are not shining equally on both sides. Instead the beam drops off the field of vision abruptly and you now faced with a blind spot of darkness. Basically, if something or someone came out in front of you, you would not see them until it was too late. For instance, driving in the neighbor alley without lighting, if a child, animal or ball came out in front of you, you would have no shadow or warning that you were about to come into contact with them. With other vehicles the light sprays off into the distance so you can see a wider field of vision. I find this extremely dangerous, unsafe for me and others! If I use my high beams the problem is solved but that is not a proper solution. I have spoken to Toyota dealer x2 and their answer is... That's the new LEDs. I have called Toyota Corp and they have registered my call. I truly believe this is a matter of urgency for the safety of human life.

Low beam LED headlights have shadows and dark spots projecting on to the road. Very distracting and looks very similar to animals or people as they come into view in the dark. Have had to swerve several times only to realize it’s the shadows in the headlight units. I have read many other owners complaining of identical issue on Toyotanation Venza forum. Really need a fix for this. It is not an issue that appears over time, this is happening straight from the factory with 0 miles on the car.

Don't recall anything unusual hitting my windshield (other than sandy grit), but when I drove it today there is a small chip and 12" crack. I have driven cars for 35 years and have never had such a fragile windshield on a car. I think it is defective, because I read about a bunch of other people having the same issue on this Toyota Nation site (and also Facebook)- https://www.toyotanation.com/threads/windshield-repair.1695878/ It is not very safe to have people drive around with windshields like this, especially if it is the fault of poor manufacturing. And even though you are supposed to get it fixed with insurance, I am not in a place right now to afford the deductible to get it fixed.

i am writing to complain of cracking the vehicle windshield. the vehicle is a Toyota Venza 2021 and it has been cracked very soon after two weeks that I have got from dealership. i think that is very vulnerable part of this new vehicle and is a malfunction, since my other past vehicles never had such failures in the winshield like this. i have had this problem more than three months ago and still after three month, Toyota has not provided it to me. it is extending rapidly and I have to drive with cracked winshiekld. i have ordered that on august 2021 at Toyota Westminister Vancouver and still agter three month they just update the date to the next month. I have submitted my full ICBC insurance and an extra insurance to the dealership at parts section, but they say this is a National back order for both Canada and States. 2021 Toyota Venza Steering assist feature creates a safety hazard. The steering assist works with the cruise control and lane departure. When on, it appears that the steering assist picks up its position or centers the vehicle in the lane from the nearest white line on the right side. It positions the vehicle approximately 12 to 18 inches from the right line position thus positioning the vehicle slightly right of the center of the lane. One is forced to fight the pull of the wheel to maintain a center lane position. This Steering Assist function creates the following problems: 1.Off-center to the right can make it too close for vehicles traveling to the vehicles right. Also, it does not adjust for vehicles traveling too close or possibly swerve on your right side. It will maintain its position regardless of events alongside of you. It receives its bearings from only the white line. This condition is more severe when traveling in a left lane on a multiple lane road with a dotted line. 2.Because the steering assist picks up its orientation from a right-side line; when the line is out of position or not available, the car will automatically move right until it finds something to coordinate the cars position. Without something fixed like a line or curb it will take the car off of the road. When approaching an off-ramp, the right solid road barrier line, usually veers right off the highway and will follow the direction of the off-ramp. Under this condition I have discovered that the steering assist feature will actually take me off of the highway onto the off-ramp and alongside the right-most solid line wherever it goes. I feel that NHTSA still should examine any issue on a car that could make its operation unsafe. Furthermore, it appears that NHTSA has not performed any crash-worthiness testing including weight and roll-over. Why has safety testing and crash worthiness not been performed on this vehicle? Lastly; why doesn’t it have a standard NHTSA door label?
