2024 Toyota Tundra

Anytime I come to a yield/traffic circle and do not have to come to a complete stop, when I push the accelerator there is a hesitation and then the truck lurches forward. It happens quite often when I slow down to 5mph give or take before accelerating again. I would estimate it has happened 50 times since I have owned the truck which I bought with 300 miles on it.

The truck has a very pronounced hesitation to accelerate after slowing down or coming to a stop. Example: slow down, come to a stop at a stop sign and then accelerating to start moving. This situation happens daily and almost on every occasion after slowing or stopping. It has gotten worse over time and this issue has put me and my family in very dangerous and scary situations as the truck does not accelerate promptly and oncoming traffic is getting closer. It really has made me concerned to drive my truck and feel unsafe doing so, especially with my family.

Vehicle hesitates/loses power on take of from a stop started happening about 2 months ago 3/1/2025. Which causes the care to stop at intersections making it a huge risk to the passengers and other cars. Then last week the car had a low oil light. Dropped vehicle off at dealer they found no leaks or issues and added oil to the car and said to drive for another 1k miles and bring it back.

While driving & coming to a complete stop, the vehicle lags like it has no power, this has happened to me more that 7, took it to the dealer, they said they cannot replicate it for me to record it , well that is hard to do, stopping & then giving the vehicle has but there is no power, since taking it to the dealer it has happened more than 5 other times, not sure what else to do, Vehicle has 16,000 miles purchased new .

Driving home engine light came on. Shut off vehicle and restarted dash lights cleared. Drove home was idling rough. Looked under hood when home and noted oil on the block. Was 4 quarts low took immediately to dealership. They said there was excessive blow by and engine failure. Mileage was 69279. Contacted Toyota they refused to correct problem. They asked if extended warranty was offered and purchased, we did not. They refused to fix the problem.

My truck, which has a build date of July 2024, is having numerous on going episodes of hesitation and throttle lag when transitioning from a complete, or nearly complete stop. The truck was purchased in early October 2024. The hesitation was not noticeable at first. It began presenting itself after about 6 weeks of ownership and 1000 miles. Today, with 4200 miles on the vehicle, it hesitated twice on a 15 mile city trip. There is no rhyme or reason as to when it may present itself...such as warm/cold outside, vehicle warmed up or still cold, or from a rolling or a dead stop. It does appear to be getting more frequent with longer delays in throttle response. I consider this to be a high priority safety issue that needs to be addressed immediately. I have never experienced this condition in a vehicle before and I have purchased about 15 new vehicles in my lifetime. I am now scheduling an appointment for this matter to be addressed with the dealership.

A low speeds there is a delay in throttle response. If you come to a stop then step on the accelerator, the vehicle has no response for a short period of time where then it may buck or propel itself to catch up with the missed throttle. I recently picked this vehicle up from the dealer and was told there is no remedy for the issue at this time.

Driving down the road, my sunroof exploded. Sun shade was pulled so no injury. Dealer would not diagnose other than saying glass just doesn’t explode so must have been hit by something. I don’t believe that is the case. Easily as likely a manufacturer defect from the factory. I have had the truck for less than a year with 11000 miles

The contact owns a 2024 Toyota Tundra. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the brake pedal was depressed and went to the floorboard. The vehicle made an abnormal sound and failed to stop immediately. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who determined that the front brakes needed to be replaced; however, the parts were on backorder. The contact stated that the failure recurred. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 3,000.
