Throttle lag happens quite frequently. Transmission issues dumping into gear stalling at times delayed start. Dealer says it was normal.

My truck is ticking, and not even running rite and no parts to fix it? Does anybody know how dangerous this is? XXX I drive myself and family in a $70000 truck that can literally blow up and cause a severe deadly situation especially living in southern Maine, and instead of fixing it rite away I gotta wait months from the sound of it.. no letter, no parts, no loaner, just prayers that God is with us until this XXX is fixed.. sad thing people with a brain know how dangerous it but nobody offers XXX. I own a 2024 Toyota Tundra 1794 Edition equipped with Falken Wildpeak A/T 265/60R20 112H tires (original equipment). The vehicle currently has 17,000 miles, and the tires have been rotated at regular intervals according to Toyota’s maintenance schedule. Despite proper care, the right front tire has shown excessive wear on the outer edge. This issue first appeared at 5,000 miles and was noted by my Toyota dealer, who performed an alignment and rotation at that time. The same wear pattern has now reappeared and worsened.

Severe throttle hesitation/lag when accelerating from a rolling stop for at least 2 seconds. This has happened at least 20 times since purchasing the vehicle in September 2024. On a few occasions, I had to abort acceleration completely to avoid an accident. It’s a very dangerous situation, especially with my family in the vehicle. I have noticed that putting the gear selector into ‘S’ manual mode seems to help considerably, therefore, this appears to be some form of a TCM problem. I took the vehicle to the dealer and they said that it performs like similar trucks. This problem is embarrassing and dangerous, and it needs an expeditious resolution.

Both front tires have premature wear to the outer edge. Additionally, all four tires have warned to 3/32" with less than 30,000 miles on them. Vehicle has been serviced by Toyota every 5,000 miles. All components have been inspected and per Toyota the vehicle alignment is within spec per manufacture. That being the case, the tires shouldn't wear unless there is a manufacture defect. Toyota nor Falken wants to honor the warranty or take responsibility for the defect of the OEM equipment. Toyota has a TSB for the Tundra alignment with 18" tires but refuse to add trucks with the 20" tires. They keep pointing the finger at each other leaving the customer with zero resolution. Others have replaced the tires but having the same issue reoccur. This is a safety concern as premature wear can contribute to poor cornering in curves, turns, and handling in wet or icy conditions.
Truck has had several instances where there is throttle lag when accelerating from a standstill and from a rolling stop. Happens more often when making a right hand turn. This is a safety issue when turning at a stop sign or stop light in heavy traffic.

Happens about 95% of the time. Has put me in a few near- misses where I expected the truck to get out before oncoming traffic. a similar issue occurs when starting on an incline- press the accelerator and it takes a few seconds for the transmission to catch up. Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2024 Tundra vehicles equipped with a V35A engine. Debris from the manufacturing process may contaminate the engine and cause a main bearing to fail, which can result in an engine stall and loss of drive power.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will perform an inspection on the #1 main bearing using vehicle inspection software and drive data, and if necessary, replace the engine. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk were mailed July 23, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available. Owners may contact Toyota's customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Toyota's numbers for this recall are 25TB14 and 25TA14. This recall expands previous NHTSA recall numbers 24V381 and 25V767.

Consequence: A rearview camera image that does not display reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
