Known issue with these trucks apparently. Occasional throttle lag after stopping at a stop sign, with little response from the gas pedal. On november/december of this month pulling out into a main road with traffic coming, I stepped on the gas and experienced a complete "dead pedal". I stepped on the gas and had 0 response from the truck staying at 5-10 MPH. With cars now coming towards me quickly as I was not moving I floored the gas pedal and had 0 response for another 2-3 seconds until finally the truck jolted at an extreme rate of speed. *Also have a dash cam that recorded in the incident of me flooring it with some vulgar words as cars were coming and the truck was not moving at all.

When in stop and go traffic, almost coming to a complete stop or completely stopped the truck will intermittently have a throttle delay or lag where there is no power for 1-3 seconds followed buy a surge of acceleration. I’ve almost had a couple accidents where in stop and go traffic the truck surged almost Causing me to rear end the vehicle ahead of me. Another time I was stopped at a 2 way unrolled intersection. I pressed on the accelerator and the truck just rolled without power for a couple Seconds until it surged or jolted to acceleration. Otherwise I would’ve been in the middle of the intersection with oncoming traffic approaching. The dealer inspected and was unable to replicate the problem and I have taken it in several times. Repairing dealer confirmed manufacturer has had complaints about the same issue with the same model vehicle. There were no codes or error messages ever displayed. The dealer said they would contact when and if the manufacturer had a remedy or recall available. .

My vehicle is subject to multiple recalls, including a serious safety recall. On November 6, 2025, Toyota issued NHTSA Safety Recall 25V767 stating that the engine may stall during driving, creating a crash risk. As of today, no repair remedy has been made available. Because of this safety risk, I stopped driving the vehicle. The issue has not occurred because I discontinued use out of safety concerns. An earlier recall, NHTSA Recall 25V322 issued on May 15, 2025 regarding reverse lamps becoming inoperable, also remains unresolved with no available remedy. Toyota acknowledged the safety concern by authorizing a rental vehicle. I am concerned about the lack of a repair timeline and the safety of this vehicle.

There is acceleration lag with my truck. Primarily happens when pulling into traffic which dangerously slows the vehicle down in traffic.

At a stop, there is a delay when accelerating. It almost feels like it is "thinking" before it starts to go. There are no warning lamps. It is unsafe when pulling out of highway because of the uncertainty of when the vehicle feels like its going to go. Some call it turbolag but it feels more than that.

When I am coming to a stop , but not a complete stop ( such as at a yield sign) the vehicle hesitates when I hit the throttle. It takes a second for the truck to engage. This is very dangerous. I believe that this could potentially cause a collision due to the vehicle not beginning motion when the throttle is pushed.
