The contact owns a 2024 Toyota Tundra. The contact stated that while driving approximately 40-45 MPH, the radio started blinking, and the vehicle lost power and stopped in the middle of the road. The contact was able to restart the vehicle; however, there was a burning odor, and white smoke was coming from the HVAC system and the engine compartment. The contact turned off and exited the vehicle and the smoking stopped. The contact called the local Police to assist with directing traffic while waiting for towing assistance. The vehicle was towed to the dealer. The dealer attempted to return the vehicle to the contact after 3 weeks without confirmation of the diagnostic results or any repairs. The contact stated that the vehicle had been taken to the dealer before the failure had occurred to be repaired under NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 25V767000 (Engine and Engine Cooling), 25V322000 (Exterior Lighting), 26V038000 (Back Over Prevention); however, the dealer failed to complete the recall repair because there was not enough mechanics to perform the repairs. The manufacturer was informed of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 26,000.

My 2024 Toyota Tundra 1794 Edition, VIN [XXX], is subject to Toyota Safety Recall 25TA06, Interim 25TB06, NHTSA Recall 25V322, concerning reverse lamps that may become inoperable. The recall was announced in May 2025, but a repair remedy has still not been made available for my vehicle. The truck is primarily used for family transportation, including trips and nighttime driving. I experienced a minor, low-speed property-damage incident while reversing in a poorly lit garage area. Visibility behind and beside the vehicle was limited, and the truck contacted a garage-door support column before the garage lighting came on. The incident caused minor cosmetic side damage. There were no injuries, no structural damage, no police report, and no insurance claim. I previously advised Toyota that I had experienced an issue related to the recall. Toyota opened Customer Experience Case [XXX]. Toyota offered to keep my truck at a dealership indefinitely and provide alternate transportation until a remedy became available, but it could not guarantee a comparable Tundra 1794 or provide an estimated repair date. Toyota later opened repurchase review Case [XXX]. I promptly provided the requested documentation, but despite repeated telephone and email follow-ups, Toyota has not provided a meaningful review timeline, vehicle inspection date, or final determination. My primary complaint to NHTSA is the extended period without an available safety remedy and the continuing risk to owners operating affected vehicles. I respectfully request that NHTSA review the adequacy and timeliness of Toyota’s recall remedy process for this defect. The Attorney General was contacted and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline. The contact was requesting a buyback. The manufacturer was contacted, and a case was filed. THROTTLE BODY WAS REPLACED, NO DEALER ADVICE TO REPLACE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD ALL OF A SUDDEN MY VEHICLE WENT FROM HIGHWAY SPEEDS TO LIMP MODE ON THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY AND A WHOLE BUNCH OF WARNINGS CAME ON SECONDARY BRAKE SYSTEM FAILURE, HYBRID CONTROL FAILURE , STOPED ON THE SIDE OF ROAD TRUCK STALLED THEN RESTARTED NORMAL THEN ALL WARNINGS CAME BACK AND BACK TO LIMP MODE, PROBLEM COMFIRMED BY DEALER IN EL PASO ALMOST 300 MILES AWAY FROM HOME, NOT SURE WHO THE DEALER SHOWED TO , AND NO PRIOR WARNINGS AT ALL BEFORE THIS HAPPEND AT 51K MILES ON MY 2024 TOYOTA TUNDRA.

I went to the dealership near me to get the following recall completed: Manufacturer Recall Number26TA02, NHTSA Recall Number26V038. The recall was stated to say that the rear backup camera would sometimes not show despite being shifted into reverse, which I had experienced multiple times. After the dealership performed the software update to fix this issue, I have experienced the issue multiple times since. So the issue is not fixed and the update from Toyota failed.

The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the computer software had failed, and a software update was needed. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 26V038000 (Back Over Prevention), 25V322000 (Exterior Lighting), and 25V767000 (Engine and Engine Cooling); however, the parts for the recall repairs were not yet available. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The approximate failure mileage was 7,278.

Both passenger seats by controls plastic cracking. Infotainment center blacks out and marker bars and back up lines for both back up and front parking have disappeared. GPS even when linked to my phone screen will black out but phone gps will still work. I have complained about this multiple times. Toyota did a factory reset on it and didn’t fix the issue took it back and a tech had to re-install program said the Infotainment center has a known issue where it forgets the program. I also informed Toyota about the engine seems to be really sluggish when at a complete stop and then start again taking a few seconds to go along with shifting hard from stop and go. Toyota did say they saw what I saw and this usually happens when people double foot pedals. I told them I don’t do that. I am frustrated and don’t know what to do I have a 72k truck that just turned 17k miles on it with a lot of issues what will I have to deal with down the road once the warranty is up? I love Toyota but this time seems like I got a lemon from Toyota with all the issues and continued rising issues.

Vehicle panoramic view monitor camera system becomes unresponsive. Error Code U023B87 - Lost communication with ECM/PCM missing image. System error renders all cameras except rear camera inoperable. Rear camera lines are removed. All Parking and Cross Traffic Collision becomes unresponsive and appears to be off. Only warning lamp was "vehicle trailer assist malfunction" within the trailer display. Problem is always occurring, it is not intermittent. Concerns on safety: Inability to utilize parking, cross traffic, and cameras which enhance vehicle and pedestrian safety. Front view camera typically goes on at low to avoid forward blindspot over hood. Without cameras or sensors, may result in collision with low objects or pedestrians such as children on bicycles particularly on large blindspot in front of hood. Failure appeared at 1,800 miles. Toyota dealership inspected and unable to resolve issue.
