2023 Toyota Tundra

I was leaving work one day and pulled out in traffic and my engine stalled causing the car behind me to slam on their brakes to avoid crashing into me from the back my engine completely stalled and I got no gas to accelerate I then went to the dealership and stated what happened and they told me they could not help me at the moment so I wrote a letter to corporate Toyota and they put me in the loaner in the following week. I’ve been in the loaner for the past four months with no remedy on my truck and no answer to when it’s gonna be fixed or this problem is gonna be resolved.

2023 Toyota Tundra CrewMax SR5 4x4, VIN [XXX], approximately 79000 miles. This vehicle has two open safety recalls. Both show "Recall Incomplete, remedy not yet available" on NHTSA's VIN lookup as of XXX NHTSA 25V322 (Toyota 25TB06) was filed XXX for moisture intrusion causing both reverse lamps to fail. Toyota's remedy notice estimated that the remedy would begin to be available in the fourth quarter of 2025. That estimate is now approximately nine months past and no remedy is available for this VIN. NHTSA 25V767 (Toyota 25TB14) was filed XXX for machining debris causing number one main bearing failure, with symptoms including engine knocking, rough running, no-start, and loss of motive power. Interim notices were mailed XXX. The remedy has been postponed and remains unreleased for this VIN, with rollout phased by vehicle age. I am filing because the manufacturer has been unable to provide a remedy for either recall within a reasonable time. I have owned this vehicle since XXX and have been unable to obtain repair for a known safety defect for more than fifteen months on the first campaign. My 2023 Toyota Tundra iForceMAX truck has been out of commission for 56 days (Since June 29, 2026). I have experienced a "shroud rub" issue which is a widely documented design flaw in 2022–2025 Tundras. It happens when pressure from the transmission lines warps the passenger-side plastic fan shroud, pushing it straight into the radiator fins until it rubs a hole right through them. The dealer (Fred Haas Toyota World, Spring TX) has stated that they are still waiting for a new fan shroud to arrive and have NO firm date when it will arrive. This is a safety issue as the vehicle sends a clear warning on the dashboard gauge cluster of the dangerous condition to over heating and advises the driver to immediately pull over, switch offthe engine and let it cool down or risk catastrophic failure.

Ive been waiting for years for the previous recalls I have been informed about to get fixed. Feul system,brake lights.Was told by Toyota that someone would call me to come to get them taken care of. In the meantime, constantly checking that my brake lights are working before departing on any excursions in truck & patiently waiting for toyota to reach out when they were gonna fix the first 2 recalls that I was notified about. I can't recall the date exactly, but I was driving on the highway w/ my still backward carseat, facing 2y.o. baby safely strapped in,ThankGod.As accelerating into my lane, heard huge BOOM like an IED. Immediately, the check engine light among others came on.Truck immediately lost power & was violently shaking.Felt it in the steering wheel, but largely in engine compartment.@this time,I tried to get over to shoulder to a safe place.I turned the car off.Let it rest checked on my infant in back made sure he was ok. After letting car rest, turn back on to my surprise All lights were off.I was w/in few miles of home so went directly back, never getting to my intended destination. Shortly before driveway, all lights came back on & multiple service messages.Since then the truck has not been driveable,As we have specifically looked up recalls,thusly Nov.recall matched lights on the dash for the specific make,year, model of truck. From my understanding, it says that there is no remedy for such recall. But that is untrue. The remedy is an entirely new engine. They just haven't rolled out the recall info to everyone applicable. I am unable to work. My home is without a vehicle and this is unacceptable.Along w/ safety risk to me and infant. I'm sure Toyota doesn't want to admit or remedy Because that is very costly. But this was a mistake made by the company. And it should be remedied, because our family is suffering in various ways. Lost revenue. Inability to respond if emergency etc.I need a new engine.& in the interim,I need a car supplied while fixed.

While I was driving on Highway 459, the vehicle suddenly experienced a complete engine failure and lost power in the middle of the roadway. The vehicle could no longer accelerate or maintain its speed, leaving me stranded in an active traffic lane. This sudden failure placed me and other motorists at serious risk of a collision. Vehicles approaching from behind had to slow down, stop or change lanes to avoid hitting my disabled vehicle. I activated the hazard lights and attempted to move the vehicle to a safer location, but because the engine was no longer functioning, I was unable to safely remove it from the roadway. Before the incident, the vehicle displayed the following warning lights, messages or symptoms: NO PRIOR WARNING The vehicle was transported to OURISMAN TOYOTA OF WOODBRIDGE for inspection. The facility determined that ENGINE WAS BAD. The engine and vehicle remain available for inspection upon request. This was an abrupt and dangerous loss of engine power in active traffic. A vehicle should not experience a sudden engine failure that leaves it immobilized in the middle of a highway, especially without sufficient warning to allow the driver to reach a safe location. I am reporting this incident because the failure created a serious safety hazard for me and other motorists, and I am concerned that the same defect could affect other vehicles.

-Our Toyota Tundra Hybrid suffered total catastrophic engine failure due to metal shavings found throughout the engine and oil system. This is the same issue that prompted NHTSA ID Number: 25V767000 recall of Toyota's V35A engines. The tundra is available for inspection. -Statement regarding safety put at risk by my husband: I felt a vibration from the engine compartment (seeming to come from the front right side) and then I suddenly lost complete power. I was traveling in the number one lane (the fast lane). I immediately put my hazards on and had to navigate to the number two lane and then over to the narrow shoulder under no power whatsoever. I had to navigate around multiple semi-trucks. This was a very dangerous situation and I barely got it over to the shoulder. If my teenage daughters were driving this car they likely wouldn't have been able to safely navigate it across two lanes with no power in the setting of multiple semi-trucks on a two-lane divided highway. Again, a very dangerous situation. I shut down the engine and waited five minutes and restarted it. Shifting into gear the warning indicator said 'hybrid system disconnected'. -The total catastrophic engine failure has been confirmed by the Toyota Dealership. Th4ey Confirmed multiple shavings of metal in the entire oil system and the engine has seized. He said that the engine needed to be replaced. -The tundra has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance (yet) or others besides the Toyota dealership. -There were no warning lamps, messages, or other symptom of the pending catastrophic total engine failure.

My wife and I purchased a brand new Tundra LTD in May 2023. An important note to keep in mind is that my wife and I not only purchased the new Tundra but also a new travel trailer so we could enjoy our nation's national parks during our retirement years. I will relate that to my complaint shortly. It wasn't long after our purchase that we became aware of the issue of machining debris possibly contaminating the engine block which can result in sudden engine failure. Right now, because Toyota has not resolved our issue and communication has generally been close to non-existent. We no longer feel we can safely take our truck and trailer to the remote national parks of the American southwest where distances are huge and help few and far between. We have visited the SW twice and want to do more while we are still young enough to do so but are worried about what a sudden breakdown would do. I called up Toyota and asked them to repurchase the Tundra so I could buy a new onw without the issue. I explained that I paid for the Truck in good faith but that they have not kept up the end of the bargain, the truck Toyota sold us is potentially unsafe and we'd like it fixed or repurchases which would allow us to buy a new truck. They closed out my official inquiry without comment or communication of any kind. Apparenty, they are just fine with consumers being sold a truck that may suddenly die on them. Anyway you folks can get Toyota to fairly take care of its customers?

On April 7, 2026, at 5:00 PM, while driving, I noticed something unusual with my car, and it broke down on the side of the road, leaving me panicked and frightened. After the car stopped, I got out and looked at the engine from underneath; I saw engine oil spraying out of the engine. I then had the car towed to a safe location, and a few days later, I took it to the Toyota dealership.
