Toyota and the dealership have instructed us not to use the second-row seats because of potential safety risks in a crash. At this time, Toyota has no remediation or repair timeline, making the vehicle unsafe and unusable for its intended purpose as a family minivan. Toyota is offering a rental reimbursement cap of $42 per day, which in California only covers a compact or small sedan. This does not provide a comparable or safe alternative vehicle for a family that requires second-row seating. As a result, we are unable to safely transport our family while Toyota delays a repair. Dealerships in our area do not have loaner vehicles and rely on third-party rental agencies (Enterprise). Toyota has stated they will not cover the cost of a vehicle comparable in size or seating capacity, placing the financial burden on the consumer despite the vehicle being subject to a safety recall. This situation effectively leaves us without a safe vehicle, despite owning a new car under warranty, due to: •A known safety defect •Explicit guidance not to use key seating •No available repair •Inadequate manufacturer accommodation I am requesting NHTSA review Toyota’s handling of this recall, including whether the rental accommodation offered meets reasonable safety and usability expectations for affected families.

There is a recall from October 5 2025 regarding second row seats that are mounted on seat rails that may have been improperly welded. They recommend not to have anyone sit in that row or use child restraints. How is there no remedy at this time?? Who can have their passengers sit in the third row and avoid sitting at the second row. This is negligence from Toyota and should have a remedy right away. We bought this car in March 2025 and have been driving our two boys around for several months until being notified of this recall! How can you expect someone not to use the second row seats for months without an answer particularly a minivan.

It had been 2.5 months and there is no fix. Why is Toyota putting their manufacturing mistakes on their customers? The car is essentially not functional because we need the second row to fully fit our family in the car. Toyota mailed a recall notice for the first time and it was received yesterday (2.5 months post recall). Toyota should have mailed this notice as soon as the recall was issued.
