We have had 3 interior door handles malfunction within 12,000 miles. This poses a serious risk if the vehicle was in an accident where there was a fire and the interior door handle malfunctioned. Toyota has yet to publish a recall, but it is widely documented online and our dealer service advisor has mentioned this is a serious problem they have seen on other models as well. The three handles have broken on three different occasions: Front driver(2/13/2026), rear driver-side (8/14/2026), and most recently front passenger side (9/13/2026)

Interior door handle broke, driver side. Vehicle is just over a year old with 7K miles. Apparently Toyota has confirmed this is defective part, the item is currently back ordered and I'm at 10 plus days waiting for a replacement. This prevents a safety hazard on exiting the vehicle in an emergency.

Was lucky the screen as deployed as it caught the glass from hitting the driver.
