Frequently during breaking while going downhill or hitting a bump while breaking, the breaking will “slip” or stop breaking and then jump back into breaking. Once it recovers and the breaks catch again, it will jolt the vehicle forward.

Occasionally, if I drive over uneven surface or make a turn while breaking, then the brake lets up for a second and the car lurches forward. This has happened probably probably 5-6 times a month for the past 7 months we've owned the car. We live near some hills, so it most often occurs when going downhill and I'm breaking at/below residential speeds. After the second of letting up, the break resumes as normal. My husband has also had this issue happen to him, although only once because he drives it less often. -The car is available for inspection on request. -So far, there haven't been any related accidents because I've never been in an emergency breaking situation. -The problem has not been confirmed by an independent service center. Before we purchased the car, we had a Toyota Dealer mechanic (who was not connected to the dealership selling the car) do a routine inspection and said the breaks were in good shape. Because the break issue only happens in certain conditions, we did not notice the break issue until after the car was purchased. -The car hasn't been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance, etc. -There have been no warnings or other symptoms.

In 2023, I purchased a used 2022 Toyota Sienna with 39k miles on it. I have noticed that when I am coming to a slow stop, the car will not stop right away as expected. Instead, it moves forward. It also happens with slow right or left turns. These incidents are sporadic, occurring at least once every time I drive. On this Memorial Day, I encountered a very dangerous situation while driving on the highway. I needed to brake for an emergency, but the vehicle refused to brake, nearly causing me to lose control. Following this incident, I conducted research and discovered that a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB-0047-24) exists. I took the car to the Toyota dealership, applied the TSB, and covered the full cost. I am uncertain whether the problem will receive a fix. Based on my knowledge, I believe this is a safety concern, and Toyota should investigate further.

I bought this vehicle new and it has an issue with braking. Once in a while when you hit your brake the car wants to keep going. Kind of like accelerating on its own. I let Toyota know about this a couple of times when I went in for scheduling maintenance. They say that they can’t find anything wrong. It’s has happened at least twenty times to me and more lately. Yesterday 5/29 it happened twice, and is very scary. If you go online you will see other people complain about the same problem. Sooner or later something bad is going to happen. I bought the van for my wife, and she is to afraid to drive it any longer

The last time this happened, it resulted in a crash with my daughter in the car. Toyota is telling me the brakes are fine but I do not feel safe driving it. There have been no lights or warning lamps and Toyota says they inspected the issue and found nothing but it has happened multiple times.

Right after parking my 2022 Toyota Sienna XLE, I heard a VERY LOUD boom from overhead. It sounded like an explosion. Upon getting out of the car to see if something hit the car, I noticed the glass of the sunroof had a shattered pattern (but none of the glass actually came apart). My and my family's safety is at risk because at any moment, glass could shatter and enter the car. Fortunately, my moonroof cover is closed. Other people are at risk because if glass breaks off while I'm driving, it could hit other cars or pedestrians. I am writing this within 30 minutes of the explosion and have not taken it to a dealer, independent service center, nor has it been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others. There were no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to this incident.

When braking the vehicle will initially slow then it feels as if the brake releases or actually accelerate before the brake engages again. This has been happening pretty much since we purchased the vehicle. It seem to be happening with more frequency.

Today I tried opening my doors, and there is no response at all. At first I thought maybe my key fob is dead, so I grabbed my spare and tried, nothing. Pull both my physical keys out twist and turned, still nothing. Called Toyota Roadside service and they said in that case they will have to tow my van to the nearest dealer, so it seems Toyota is aware of this issue. What is the point of the physical keys if they can't open your doors when your battery is dead? What if my kids are stuck in the car????
