2025 Toyota RAV4

This 2025 RAV4 hybrid XLE Premium is in permanent shape of inoperable due to continues electrical system that drains the 12v battery. Anytime I want to drive the car I have to charge the 12v battery for 3-4 hours before I can attempt to drive the car. This is all the time problems that start about 2 weeks into the purchase of the vehicle.

This 2025 RAV4 will randomly move or jerk to the left while driving straight. It does not matter where you are in relation to the center of the lane. Sometime the movement is gentile and other time it is very strong bordering on violent. It will do the same thing with the lane keeping assistance, and pre-collision warning active or disabled. This issue could cause an accident if the jerky movement happened at the wrong time with another car alongside or approaching from the opposite direction. The movement has pushed me across the line a couple of times and it has happened at 15 mph all the way up to 65mph. The dealer did an alignment which did not change the problem. Now they want $425 to recalibrate the forward camara which 'might correct the issue'. This could get very expensive very fast when it should be covered under warranty. There are no warning lamps or messages to indicate the problem. This is a dangerous issue not just an inconvenience.

We were on a funeral procession when suddenly the car accelerated at a very high speed and hit the end of guard rail head on. My wife on the passenger side and two people at the back were all taken to the emergency room. I got pinned on the steering column and taken out via the roof. I had severe abrasions on both legs, wife has 3 broken ribs,the 2 passengers suffered whiplash and complains of chest pains. Car was purchased 11/3/2025 and I took it for a recall fix about a month ago at Burien Toyota dealership where we bought it. Incident # 2026-55959 Seattle police. At present our car insurance is investigating and our claim # is 082 0356939 Allstate.

The contact’s sister owns a 2025 Toyota Rav4. The owner received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V595000 (Electrical System); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The instrument panel intermittently went black. The failure became persistent over time. The dealer was contacted and confirmed that the part was not yet available for the repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that the part was not yet available. The manufacturer referred the owner to the dealer for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 3,000.

I am aware of a recall for the screens turning off randomly while driving, especially in reverse while using the back up camera. My VIN was not included in the recall, though this has been happening to me. It happened for the first time when I was in reverse yesterday trying to use the back up camera, it typically happens while I’m driving forward on the road. I am including the date of the incident that happened while in reverse, but please know this has been happening since about a month after I purchased the car completely new.
