The contact owns a 2006 Suzuki LS650P. The contact stated that while riding at an undisclosed speed, there was an abnormal sound coming from the motorcycle that sounded like metal on metal. The contact owns a 2006 Suzuki LS650P. The contact stated that while riding at an undisclosed speed, there was an abnormal sound coming from the motorcycle that sounded like metal on metal. After a visual inspection, the contact observed that the fuel tank was not secured to the motorcycle and was able to move freely as the rear bracket was fractured. No warning lights were illuminated. The motorcycle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The motorcycle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 06V013000 (Fuel System, Gasoline), but the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was 24,000.
