2007 SUZUKI GSX-R1000, CRACKED (COMPLETELY THROUGH) SUB-FRAME AT THE POINT WHICH SUPPORTS THE PASSENGER. 1ST TIME I NOTICED WHEN MY WIFE COMPLAINED SHE FELT LIKE THE SEAT WAS LOOSE. THE DEALER IN MANNHEIM GERMANY REPLACED THE PART UNDER WARRANTY IN MARCH 2008. 3 WEEKS AFTERWARD, THE REPLACEMENT PART CRACKED IN THE EXACT SAME LOCATION, IDENTICAL IN SIZE AND SHAPE TO THE CRACK IN THE ORIGINAL SUB-FRAME. DEALER IN GERMANY WOULD NOT MAKE A SECOND CLAIM AND EXPLAINED THAT THE EXHAUST SYSTEM CAUSED THE CRACK BY PRODUCING A FREQUENCY THAT CRACKS THE ALUMINUM. I CALLED SUZUKI MANUFACTURER IN THE US AND THEY WOULD NOT SUPPORT REPLACING THE PART UNLESS I COULD SEND THE BIKE BACK TO THE US FOR SERVICING WITHIN THE WARRANTY PERIOD, WHICH HAD JUST ENDED. CONSEQUENCES: MOTORCYCLE IS UNSAFE TO OPERATE WHILE THE SUB-FRAME IS CRACKED. I CAN NOT HOLD ANY PASSENGER ON THE PASSENGER SEAT DUE TO UNSAFE FRAME CRACK. I MAINTAIN THE ORIGINAL AND REPLACEMENT PARTS. PICTURES AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST. *TR

Official recalls
213V449000 · Service Brakes
Oct 18, 2013
Suzuki Motor of America, Inc. (Suzuki) is recalling certain model year 2004-2013 GSX-R600 and GSX-R750, and model year 2005-2013 GSX-R1000 motorcycles. In combination with older brake fluid, corrosion of the brake piston inside of the front brake master cylinder generates gas that may result in a reduction of fluid pressure transmission to the front brake.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: As a result, front braking power may be reduced increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Suzuki will notify owners, and dealers will replace the front brake master cylinder, free of charge. The recall began on November 18, 2013. Owners may contact Suzuki at 1-800-572-1490. Suzuki's campaign numbers for this recall are: 2A (31, 32, 33, 34, 35, and 36).
07V362000 · Vehicle Speed Control
Aug 15, 2007
ON CERTAIN MOTORCYCLES, EACH TIME THE IGNITION SWITCH IS TURNED OFF, THE ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM) PRE-SETS THE POSITION OF THE IDLE SPEED CONTROL (ISC) VALVE FOR SUBSEQUENT ENGINE STARTING BY OPENING THE VALVE COMPLETELY AND THEN CLOSING IT TO A START-UP POSITION.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: DUE TO IMPROPER SHAPE OF THE INTERNAL MECHANISM THAT MOVES THE ISC VALVE, THE VALVE MAY REMAIN IN THE OPEN POSITION INSTEAD OF MOVING TO THE CORRECT START-UP POSITION. THIS CAN RESULT IN NO-LOAD ENGINE IDLE SPEEDS AS HIGH AS 5000 RPM THE NEXT TIME THE ENGINE IS STARTED. IF THE RIDER CHOOSES TO OPERATE THE MOTORCYCLE IN THIS CONDITION, THE RIDER MAY HAVE DIFFICULTY OPERATING THE MOTORCYCLE, WHICH COULD RESULT IN A CRASH.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE ISC VALVE WITH AN IMPROVED PART, AND WILL ALSO REPLACE THE ECM. THE RECALL BEGAN ON AUGUST 22, 2007. OWNERS MAY CONTACT SUZUKI AT 1-714-572-1490.
