LOW HEADLAMP BULB HOUSING MELTED SO BAD IT MUST BE REPLACED AT ESTIMATED DEALER COST OF $650. THERE IS AN EXTENDED WARRANTEE FOR REPLACING THE BULBS THAT HAVE BEEN BURNING OUT EVERY 6-9 MONTHS. I BELIEVE THEY HAVE BEEN BURNING UP DUE TO A MANUFACTURING DEFECT IN THE HOUSING THAT IS NOT BEING ADDRESSED. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THE LOW-BEAM HOUSING UNIT AS IT POSES A FIRE RISK. THE EXTENDED BULB REPLACEMENT WARRANTEE IS A BAND-AID THAT DID NOT ADDRESS THE UNDERLYING ISSUE.

PURCHASED VEHICLE IN AUGUST OF 2015. HAVE HAD THE BATTERY REPLACED MULTIPLE TIMES AS FOLLOWS: *11/20/2018 (608805) *11/01/2019 (630860) *05/18/2020 (641572) AS OF 01/05/2021, THE VEHICLE BATTERY IS DEAD AGAIN AND AT MOORE SUBARU IN RICHMOND, VIRGINIA FOR SERVICE. EACH TIME THE BATTERY HAS BEEN DEAD, IT HAS BEEN PARKED (DRIVEWAY OR WORK) AND WHEN TRYING TO START THE VEHICLE, IT WOULD MAKE A CLICKING NOISE. THIS TIME (1/5/21) THE BATTERY WAS COMPLETELY DEAD (DOORS WOULDN'T OPEN, NO NOISES WHEN TRYING TO START). WHEN THE BATTERY DIED IN MAY OF 2020, MOORE SUBARU HAD THE VEHICLE FOR APPROXIMATELY 5 DAYS TO SEE IF THEY COULD DETERMINE THE PROBLEM. THEY ULTIMATELY FOUND NOTHING MORE THAN A POTENTIALLY BAD BATTERY.

MY 2019 OUTBACK (BOUGHT IN SEPT 2019) HAS BEEN EXPERIENCING DEAD BATTERY ISSUES. I HAVE HAD TO JUMP START IT TWICE IN THE LAST FEW MONTHS. I AM ONLY DRIVING PRIMARILY ONE TIME PER WEEK DUE TO COVID, BUT I DON'T FEEL THAT I SHOULD HAVE THESE ISSUES WITH A NEW CAR/BATTTERY. READING THAT OTHERS EXPERIENCE THE SAME ISSUES AS I DO. I JUST DROVE ON WEDNESDAY AND PURPOSEFULLY DROVE AN EXTRA TIME (TOTAL DRIVE TIME WAS PROBABLY 25 MINUTES, STOPPING ONCE) AND ON SATURDAY THE BATTERY WAS DEAD AGAIN. I DON'T WANT TO KEEP EXPERIENCING THIS. WAS GOING TO CHANGE MY BATTERY BUT I DON'T KNOW THAT IT WILL SOLVE THE PROBLEM FROM WHAT I AM READING. I WANT TO REPORT IT SO THAT IT CAN BE INVESTIGATED AND POTENTIALLY FIXED.

VEHICLE BATTERY HAS UNEXPECTEDLY GONE DEAD THREE TIMES SINCE MARCH 2020. THIS IS AFTER A NEW SUBARU BATTERY WAS INSTALLED IN 2019. I UNDERSTAND THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM WITH SUBARU OUTBACKS (2016-2020). MY DEALERSHIP TOLD ME IT REQUIRES SOFTWARE UPDATES WHICH DON'T SEEM TO WORKING. MY VEHICLE HAS 16000 MILES ON IT.

Subaru of America, Inc. (Subaru) is recalling certain 2009-2013 Forester vehicles, 2008-2011 Impreza vehicles, 2008-2014 WRX vehicles, 2005-2014 Legacy vehicles, 2005-2014 Outback vehicles and 2006-2008 Tribeca vehicles equipped with a mechanical key ignition switch installed as a replacement part. The ball spring inside the switch may break, reducing the strength of the ignition switch. If this occurs, the weight on the key ring and certain road conditions could cause the ignition switch to move out of the run position to the accessory position, turning off the engine.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: The engine turning off unexpectedly can increase the risk of a crash. If a crash occurs under this condition, the air bag may not deploy, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy: Subaru will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the ignition switch, replacing the ignition switch, if necessary, free of charge. The recall began May 10, 2019. Owners may contact Subaru customer service at 1-844-373-6614. Subaru's number for this recall is WUF-91.

Remedy: Subaru will notify owners, and dealers will reprogram the combination meter software, free of charge. The recall began February 20, 2019. Owners may contact Subaru customer service at 1-844-373-6614. Subaru's number for this recall is WTW-82.
