ONCE THE VEHICLE IS MOVING, EVERYTHING APPEARS TO BE WORKING FINE. IT'S JUST WHEN STARTING THE CAR. MY ISSUES SEEM TO BE RELATED TO THE ISSUES THAT ARE DOCUMENTED IN A CURRENT LAWSUIT AGAINST SUBARU FOR DRAINED BATTERY.

IN LOOKING UP OTHER DRIVERS COMMENTS, THIS IS A KNOWN PRODUCT PROBLEM. THERE IS A TECHNICAL BULLETIN OUT ABOUT THIS, BUT IT DOESN'T DO ANYTHING TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THERE IS ALSO A KNOW TIRE WEARING PROBLEM. I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THOSE, 3 TIMES. I HAVE 92000 MILES. I HAVE REPLACED THEM WITH MICHELIN TWICE. GOOD FOR 60,000. LUCKY TO GET 30,000 ON THEM. TWICE NOW BECAUSE OF THE BATTERY, I HAVE BEEN STRANDED. THIS LAST TIME, I WAS AT MY VACATION HOME, ONLY ONE OTHER PERSON IN THE AREA. LUCKILY THEY HAD JUMPER CABLES, AND JUMPED THE CAR AND FOLLOWED ME TO THE AUTO STORE. THE FIRST TIME I MISSED WORK, AND HAD TO WAIT TILL MY HUSBAND CAME HOME TO GIVE MY CAR A JUMP. BOTH TIMES, THE CAR WAS SITTING OVERNIGHT.

MY SUBARU OUTBACK IS LESS THAN 3Y 9M AFTER BEING PURCHASED A BRAND NEW AND IT ALREADY GOT 5 (FIVE !!!) NEW BATTERIES REPLACED WITHOUT BEING IDENTIFIED WITH ANY ISSUES BY SUBARU TECHNICIANS. THE FIRST TIME THE BATTERY DIED WAS WHEN THE CAR WAS ONLY 7 MONTH OLD ON THE ORIGINAL WARRANTY. A NEW OEM BATTERY (#2) HAS BEEN INSTALLED AT THE SUBARU DEALERSHIP. 14 MONTHS LATER THIS SUBARU BATTERY #2 IS DEAD, REPLACED BY A NEW AAA BATTERY #3 THAT WITHIN TWO MONTHS WAS DEAD, EXTREMELY CORRODED. ONCE AGAIN I WAS FORCED TO ADDRESS THE SAME ISSUE, BRINGING THE CAR TO A DEALERSHIP WHERE A NEW OEM SUBARU BATTERY #4 WAS INSTALLED AND COVERED BY A THICK LAYER OF PETROLEUM JELLY. THE BATTERY #4 HAS LASTED ONLY FOR 17 MONTHS. THUS A NEW SUBARU OEM BATTERY #5 HAD TO BE INSTALLED. EVERY TIME I'M TOLD THE CAR HAS BEEN CHECKED, NO ISSUES HAVE BEEN FOUND,THOUGH I HAD ALSO REPORTED THAT I KEPT ADJUSTING THE CLOCK IN MY CAR EVERY COUPLE OF WEEKS,IT HAS BEEN FALLING BEHIND. IT'S HARD TO ACCEPT THAT SUBARU TECHNICIANS HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE CAUSE OF THE PARASITIC DRAIN PROBLEM IN MY CAR. WHAT IS EXACTLY GOING ON WITH MY SUBARU OUTBACK 2017 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM?TOO MUCH FRUSTRATION WHEN I MISSED MY WORKING HOURS, MEDICAL APPOINTMENTS DUE TO DEALING WITH THE CAR THATIS NOT STARTING, AS WELL AS WITNESSING MY CAR LOSING ITS VALUE. ALL THE DOCUMENTS ARE KEPT IN A FILE, MY NOTES ARE RECORDED.
ALMOST NEW BATTERY FAILED. HAD REPLACED PREVIOUS BATTERY ON SEPT 15, 2020 WITH INTERSTATE BATTERY, AND ON APR. 13, 2021 IN THE MORNING THE BATTERY WAS FOUND DISCHARGED DESPITE NOTHING BEING ON IN CAR OVERNIGHT. THE RED TERMINAL IS CORRODED.
THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM KEEPS DRAINING THE BATTERY. I HAVE TO KEEP A BATTERY JUMPER IN MY CAR BECAUSE THE BATTERY IS CONSTANTLY DEAD. I'M IN MY 2ND BATTERY AND HAVING TO JUMP STAR5 IT AT LEAST TWICE A MONTH AND THE CAR ONLY HAS 30,000 MILES.

WE JUST BOUGHT THIS CAR. USED, LESS THAN 7K MILES. I HAVEN'T EVEN MADE A PAYMENT YET. MY WIFE CALLED ME FROM THE TURN LANE OF A BUSY INTERSECTION WITH HUNDREDS OF CARS SPEEDING PAST. SHE WAS DRIVING AND STOPPED TO TURN LEFT AT A RED LIGHT. WHEN SHE WENT TO GO, THE CAR TURNED OFF AND WOULD NOT START - ALTHOUGH IT APPEARED THERE WAS POWER; RADIO, LIGHTS, ALL WORKING. A POLICE OFFICER AND A PASSER-BY PUSHED HER INTO A PARKING LOT AFTER 20 MINUTES. WHEN I ARRIVED, IT APPEARED THE BATTERY WAS NOT CRANKING THE STARTER. I HAD HER GET JUMPER CABLES AND YES, IT STARTED RIGHT UP. NO INDICATION THAT THE BATTERY WAS HAVING ISSUES, NO WARNING LIGHTS. I TURNED THE AUTO STOP-START OFF WHILE I DROVE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHO COULDN'T EVEN TALK TO ME BECAUSE THEY WERE TO BUSY. FORTUNATELY, IT STARTED UP AND MADE IT HOME. TOOK MY SON TO HIS BASEBALL GAME AND AFTER SITTING FOR 3 HOURS, WOULD NOT START, GOT A JUMP. TOOK IT HOME, LET IT RUN A BIT, IN THE MORNING, WOULD NOT START. THE INTERNET IS FULL OF PEOPLE COMPLAINING ABOUT SUBARU AND THIS EXACT ISSUE. THIS SOULD NOT BE HAPPENING IN BASICALLY A NEW CAR.
ON 3 OCCASIONS THE CAR WOULD NOT START AFTER BEING DRIVEN. THE DASHBOARD LIT UP, RADIO WORKED, BUT NO STARTER OR ENGINE NOISE. SUBARU SAYS THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR OR BATTERY. THIS APPEARS TO BE A COMMON SUBARU PROBLEM.
