My stonewell trailer was less than 3 years old when the axle broke off while I was driving down the road. The tire and part of the axle were sent though a busy intersection. When I called [XXX], the owner at stonewell, I was told that I needed to replace both the broken axle and the other axle on my trailer because they were not the correct axle. He told me I needed to have heavier weighted axles. I know of other stonewell trailers that have had the same problem, this is not an isolated incident. No one was injured in my case but I felt very lucky that no cars were coming as I watched that tire go through an intersection at a high speed.
