Summary

THE WELDING OF THE BRAKE MOUNTING FLANGES TO THE REAR AXLE MAY BE DEFECTIVE AND MAY BREAK. IF THIS WELD WERE TO SEPARATE DURING VEHICLE OPERATION, ADJACENT BRAKE LINES COULD BE DAMAGED.

IF THE WELD IS FOUND TO BE INADEQUATE, THE FLANGE WILL BE REWELDED ACCORDING TO SPECIFICATIONS.

GVWR TWO SPEEDREAR AXLES.SYSTEM: POWER TRAIN; REAR AXLE HOUSING.CONSEQUENCES OF DEFECT: DAMAGE TO THE BRAKE LINES MAY CAUSE A DECREASE INBRAKING ABILITY WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING, AND COULD RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT,PARTICULARLY IN SITUATIONS WHERE MINIMUM STOPPING DISTANCE IS REQUIRED.
