Summary

CERTAIN STRUCTURAL WELDS ATTACHING THE KING PIN TO THE KING PIN MOUNTING STRUCTURE MAY HAVE BEEN OMITTED OR APPLIED WITH POOR WELDING TECHNIQUES. THIS COULD ALLOW THE KING PIN TO LOOSEN FROM IT"S SUPPORTING STRUCTURE.

DEALER WILL INSPECT AND REWORK THE KING PIN MOUNTING STRUCTURE TO ENSURE WELDING IS SECURE, WITHOUT CHARGE TO OWNER.

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: SEMI-TRAILERS, TANDEM AXLE.SYSTEM: STRUCTURE; KING PIN.CONSEQUENCES OF DEFECT: CONTINUED OPERATION COULD LEAD TO SEPARATION OF THESEMI-TRAILER FROM THE TOWING VEHICLE UNDER CERTAIN OFF ROAD CONDITIONS ORSEVERE BRAKING APPLICATIONS. THIS COULD RESULT IN A VEHICLE ACCIDENT.
