Summary

Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain side curtain air bag (CSA) assemblies sold as replacement parts for 2016-2023 Toyota Tacoma vehicles. The side curtain air bag may have been improperly secured to its mounting bracket, causing an improper air bag deployment.

Consequence

Improper air bag deployment can increase the risk of injury during a crash.

Remedy

Dealers will inspect and replace the CSA assemblies, as necessary, free of charge. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk are expected to be mailed September 25, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available, anticipated by Quarter 4 of 2026. Owners may contact Toyota's customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Toyota's numbers for this recall are 26TK02 and 26TH02.
