16V433000 · Trailer Hitches

Jun 14, 2016

PJ Trailers is recalling certain model year 2015-2016 T1 single axle tilt trailers manufactured March 31, 2015, to November 17, 2015. During production, these trailers had a notch cut into steel tongue that may have been too deep and thus compromised the strength of the tongue, causing it to crack and separate from the trailer.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: If the trailer separates from the tongue, the rest of the trailer would not be connected to the tow vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: PJ Trailers has notified owners, and provided each owner with a reinforcement kit to have installed, free of charge. The recall began in November 2015. Owners may contact PJ Trailers customer service at 1-866-752-8781.
