I CHECKED YOUR WEB SITE FOR A RECALL AND FOUND NONE. I CALLED MOTO GUZZI COSTUMER SERVICE AND WAS TOLD THEY WOULD REPLACE IT WITH ANOTHER RIM. THEY DID THAT BUT IT WAS REPLACED WITH A AKRONT RIM WHICH DOESN'T MATCH THE FRONT WHICH IS STILL AN EXCEL. THE AKRONT COMPANY IS OUT OF BUSINESS AND I CAN'T FIND AN AKRONT RIM TO REPLACE IT. MOTO GUZZI SAYS THERE HAVEN'T BEEN ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE FRONT RIM AND WILL NOT REPLACE IT. I AM NOW LEFT WITH THE PROPLEM WITH REPLACING BOTH RIMS BECAUSE THEY DON'T MATCH AND I DON'T TRUST THE FRONT RIM NOT TO CRACK.

THE CONSUMER UNABLE TO GET RECALL WORK PERFORMED DUE TO THE LACK OF AVAILABILITY OF PARTS. ANSWERED BY PHONE. *PH THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO COMPLETE THIS SERVICE IN A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME. RECALL# 03V487000 AND #03V486000 *SC
ON CERTAIN MOTORCYCLES, THE GEARBOX SHIFT SLEEVES FOR ENGAGEMENT OF 3RD TO 6TH GEARS CAN FRACTURE UNEXPECTEDLY WHILE THE MOTORCYCLE IS IN USE.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: SHOULD SUCH A FRACTURE OCCUR, THE MOTORCYCLE'S REAR WHEEL CAN SUDDENLY STOP TURNING OR "LOCK," RESULTING IN A LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE MOTORCYCLE, WHICH COULD RESULT IN A CRASH, PERSONAL INJURY, OR DEATH.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSTALL NEW, IMPROVED SHIFT RINGS AND A REDESIGNED CUSH-DRIVE ASSEMBLY. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN DECEMBER 14, 2003. OWNERS SHOULD CONTACT MOTO GUZZI AT 1-877-APRILIA (1-877-277-4542).
ON CERTAIN MOTORCYCLES, UNDER EXTENDED RUNNING SPEEDS NEAR THE ENGINE'S REVOLUTION LIMIT, THE ENGINE'S CONNECTING ROD BOLTS CAN FAIL.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: SHOULD SUCH A FAILURE OCCUR, THE MOTORCYCLE'S ENGINE CAN SUDDENLY STOP TURNING OR "LOCK," REQUIRING THE OPERATOR TO DISENGAGE THE CLUTCH IN ORDER TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE MOTORCYCLE. IF THE CLUTCH IS NOT DISENGAGED, THE OPERATOR CAN LOSE OF CONTROL OF THE MOTORCYCLE, WHICH COULD RESULT IN A CRASH, PERSONAL INJURY, OR DEATH.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSTALL NEW, REDESIGNED CONNECTING RODS AND BOLTS. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN DECEMBER 14, 2003. OWNERS SHOULD CONTACT MOTO GUZZI AT 1-877-APRILIA (1-877-277-4542).
