EQUIPMENT FAILURE ON RV MOTORHOME. POWER SUN VISOR MANUFACTURED BY CAREFREE OF COLORADO WILL UNEXPECTEDLY FALL FROM MOUNTING PLATES WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY. MOUNTS ARE MADE OF PLASTIC MATERIAL AND SUBJECT TO STRESS CRACKS BY VIBRATION. WHEN PLASTIC MOUNTING PLATE FAILS, SHADE FALLS IN FRONT OF DRIVER BLOCKING VISION AND ALSO STARTLES DRIVER INTO ABRUPT BRAKING AND/OR ERRATIC STEERING. COMPANY BLAMES FAILURE ON IMPROPER INSTALLATION BY FACTORY (MONACO COACH). NUMEROUS FAILURES HAVE BEEN REPORTED ONLINE AT RV FORUMS. CAREFREE HAS NOT RE-DESIGNED MOUNTING BRACKET FOR THIS SERIES OF POWERSHADES BUT HAS NOW DESIGNED A NEW POWERSHADE WITH NEW ALUMINUM MOUNTING BRACKET. THEY WILL NOT RETROFIT EXISTING SHADE. *TR
