While driving a 2022 Mercedes-Maybach S680 at approximately 40 to 65 mph, multiple advanced driver assistance and safety systems suddenly became inoperative at the same time. The vehicle displayed warnings including Active Steering Assist Inoperative, Active Brake Assist Functions Limited, Active Distance Assist Inoperative, Blind Spot Assist Inoperative, Lane Change Assist Unavailable, and Emergency Stop Assist Unavailable. These warnings appeared while the vehicle was in motion and reduced steering support, braking assistance, and collision avoidance functionality. The failures occurred without warning and created a safety concern because critical driver assistance systems were disabled during highway driving. The problem has occurred more than once and affects multiple electronic safety systems simultaneously.
Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2021-2022 S 500, Maybach S 580 4MATIC, 2021-2023 S 580 4MATIC, 2022 S 680 4MATIC, and 2023 S 580e 4MATIC vehicles. The front brake hoses may rupture and leak brake fluid.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A brake fluid leak can extend the distance needed to stop the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the front brake hoses, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 25, 2025. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372. MBUSA's number for this recall is 2025030007.
Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2022-2023 Maybach S580 and Maybach S680 vehicles. The 12-Volt ground connection in the trunk may not be secured properly, which can impair the electronic stability program (ESP) or result in the ground connection overheating.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: Impaired electronic stability control can increase the risk of a crash. An overheated ground connection can increase the risk of a fire.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect and repair the 12-Volt ground connection, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 22, 2023. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372. MBUSA's number for this recall is 2023080008.
Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2021-2023 C-Class, E-Class, S-Class, CLS, SL, GT, GLC, GLE, GLS, and G-Class vehicles. Please refer to MBUSA's recall report for specific vehicle details. The fuel pump may shutdown, which can result in a loss of drive power.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A loss of drive power can increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the fuel pump, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on June 14, 2024. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372. MBUSA's number for this recall is 2023070012.
