After fully stop with pressing brake pedal, try to shift the gear from D (Drive) to R (Reverse) but cannot shift the automatic gear position from D to R (reverse) gear. In order to shift to R gear position, I needed to shutdown and restart the engine. This has been clearly recurrent since 3 years ago and mostly happen in front of my garage to park backward, but sometimes very dangerous in the middle of road, when needed to make tight U-turn. After 60,000 miles the seal of the the cylinder head cover starts to leak. It takes around $1800 to fix and the reseal. The material use to release is way better and lasts longer compared to what car comes with. This I found out from the Mercedes Benz service department. Due to this leak the car starter gets soaked in the engine oil and car is enabled to even start up. Lots of customers end up toeing their cars to Mercedes dealer. The complaint is that Mercedes is putting the parts on their car that are cheap and going to last only 60k that is cheating and once user pays for the repairs they will put much better part. This leak has happened to my car and With only 60k miles on it. Mercedes Benz is cheating the people by putting the cheapest part and charging premium on cars. They label this as normal wear and tear, even tho car is kept well maintained. They put on much better seal after the seal and charging customers $1800. They could have use this seal first time when car was being made. I have been owner of Toyota. Honda, infinity and family member owned BMW, Jaguar and no car had this problem for the life of car( 200,000 to 300,000) miles and I have never heard of this issue until now. Even this is happening at 65,000 miles right after the warranty is expired. Was not able to change automatic transmission gear to R (Reverse) w/o restarting the engine. Cannot shift gear to Reverse or Neutral, after car is completely stopped by pushing brake pedal and keep firmly pushing the brake pedal. If takes off the foot from the pedal, the car Restart the engine, then I was able to move the gear to Reverse or Neutral The case has occurred three times, an year ago (Summer, 2021), Aug 2022, Sep 3, 2022. Q:How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? When incident happened, after trying changing the gear to Reverse, take off the foot from the pedal then car moved to forward instead of backward, then immediately braked the car again to stop moving the car. Q:Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? No. Have not brought the car to the dealership yet. Cannot reproduce it most of the time. Q:Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No. Cannot reproduce it most of the time. The contact owned a 2018 Mercedes-Benz 350 GLE. The contact stated while stopped at a traffic light at an intersection, the vehicle began to lunge forward while the brake pedal was still depressed. The vehicle lurched into the intersection and struck another vehicle. The contact stated he did not notice any warning lights being illuminated. The contact's vehicle struck a vehicle on the driver's side door with his front end. The vehicle's grill was crushed and shattered all the windows on the other vehicle's driver's side. There were no injuries. The police were on the scene and wrote a report. The contact had the vehicle towed to a local dealer, where it was placed in the body shop and repaired. The vehicle was not diagnosed. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 44,500. The VIN was not available.

(MBUSA) is recalling certain 2012-2014 ML550, 2012-2015 ML350, AMG ML63, 2015 ML250, ML400, 2016 GLE450, GLE300, 2016-2018 GLE350, GLE550, 2016-2019 GLE400, 2017-2019 AMG GLE43, and 2016-2020 AMG GLE63 vehicles. Water might accumulate in the spare tire wheel well and damage the fuel pump control unit, which could cause an engine stall while driving.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: An engine stall while driving increases the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will install a water drain plug, inspect for water intrusion, and replace the fuel pump control unit as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 15, 2023. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372. MBUSA's numbers for this recall are 2023010002 and 2023010003.

Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2018 GLE350, GLE43 AMG, and GLE400 vehicles equipped with Continental tires. The affected tires were cured for too long during production.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: Over cured tires may develop a break in the sidewall, resulting in sudden air loss or belt edge separation which could lead to tread/belt loss. Either condition can cause a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.

Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLE350 4Matic, GLE350, GLS450 4Matic, GLS550 4matic, GLE43 AMG 4Matic, GLE63 AMG 4Matic, GLE63S AMG 4Matic, and GLS63 AMG 4Matic vehicles. The rear brake caliper pistons on these vehicles may not have been correctly coated, causing gas to become temporarily released into the rear brake hydraulic circuit, reducing braking performance.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: Reduced braking performance can increase the risk of a crash.

Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2018 GLE350, GLE350 4Matic, and GLE43 AMG vehicles. During manufacturing, components of the panoramic sunroof may have been installed with a bonding primer that was incorrectly made, possibly affecting the long-term adhesion to the vehicle.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: If the front cover and/or rear fixed glass are not properly adhered, they may detach, creating a road hazard and increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: MBUSA will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the panoramic sunroof, replace it if necessary, free of charge. The recall began September 7, 2018. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372. MBUSA's number for this recall is 2018080006.
