I can't say if they didn't; however, I had to add air down the street from the dealership. Two days later the tire was down again, so I took it to Sam's Club to repair the leak. The tech there told me he couldn't repair the tire and that it needs to be replaced. Come to find out the tire had wires exposed ALL THE WAY AROUND! Mazda let me leave their lot on Labor Day weekend with steel wires coming out of the tire...mind blowing! The pros at the dealership stated they are seeing all CX-90 and CX-70 hybrids need tires before 25,000 miles. It is all over the internet that people are being told the extra weight and torque from the motor are wearing tires to quickly leading to needing to replace them well before time and or some folks are having tire failures. The couple at 16,000 miles needing tires was horrible to watch. It is my belief that the issue is a Mazda and falken failure due to a tire being used that is not suitable for the performance for the vehicle leading to a failure in safety. The dealership also stated the mileage had been removed from the tire sheet by Mazda for this particular tire in the last couple weeks so consumers can no longer request the printout for the VIN of their vehicle, but the mileage still remains for CX-5 options at 65,000. Mazda knows it is an issue and needs to find a solution quickly before lives are lost.

The Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) has received 26 complaints and several Early Warning Reporting (EWR) Field Reports alleging intermittent and brief increases in steering effort (described as “sticky steering”) during the drive cycle in model year (MY) 2024 CX-90 vehicles manufactured by Mazda North American Operations (Mazda) subject to Recall 24V2022. In each complaint, the vehicle had the recall remedy completed prior to the reported incident. Recall 24V022 addresses a sudden and unexpected change of steering effort while driving caused by excessive worm gear friction force. After receiving the recall 24V022 remedy, consumers report sudden increases of steering effort while driving. Sudden and unexpected change of steering effort while driving may increase the risk of a crash. ODI is opening this Recall Query (RQ) to assess the adequacy of the remedy for Recall 24V022 and to identify the cause(s) of the conditions leading to the post-remedy reports.
