VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN 1ST GEAR ON A SLIGHT SLOPE, 30 MINUTES LATER ROLLED BACK AND COLLIDED WITH A SECOND VEHICLE. I NOTE THAT ODI #963255 REPORTS A VERY SIMILAR INCIDENT WITH A 1994 FORD RANGER, WHICH IS THE SAME TRUCK AS MAZDA B2300. I PARKED THE 5-SPEED MAZDA PICKUP IN AN EMPTY PARKING LOT AT AROUND 8:10 AM. VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN 1ST GEAR ON A SLIGHT SLOPE, EMERGENCY BRAKE NOT ENGAGED. VEHICLE HAS BEEN PARKED THIS WAY IN THE LOT MORE THAN 50 TIMES IN THE YEAR I HAVE OWNED THE VEHICLE. AT AROUND 8:40 AM I WAS INFORMED THAT MY TRUCK HAD ROLLED BACK ACROSS THE PARKING LOT AND STRUCK ANOTHER VEHICLE. UPON ARRIVAL, I SAW MY TRUCK WITH ITS REAR BUMPER IMPALED AMID THE LEFT REAR FENDER OF A SECOND VEHICLE, WHICH (ACCORDING TO ITS OWNER) HAD BEEN PARKED APPROXIMATELY 20 MINUTES AFTER MINE HAD BEEN PARKED. I CHECKED MY TRUCK AND VERIFIED THAT THE SHIFTER WAS STILL IN FIRST GEAR. *AK
