2024 Lincoln Corsair Phev

In Lincoln's own words the lithium batteries are flawed and can cause a short circuit which can lead to a fire. This could lead to grave danger to life. I keep my car in my garage which could lead to a house fire and harm to my family. Their original temporary fix was to set the charging system to stop at 80%. After doing this when I receive the original recall, it was undone at least twice by software updates they pushed to the vehicle. Once by one of their own technician. Now their so call fix is to permanently, maybe, push software that limits the charge to 80%. In my opinion this is a bandaid, not a fix. If the batteries are flawed, they need to be replaced them, period! I purchased and paid for the vehicle with 100% charging capability and a full EV range. I now own one with only a 80% charge capability and using their words, a minimum of 12% reduction the EV range. To me this is ridiculous and Lincoln should either replace the flawed batteries or offer compensation. In the end, with this "remedy" I still own a vehicle that I'm nervous to leave in my garage. Please reject this remedy and hold Lincoln accountable.

Reference is made to Recall 24V954000 For PHEV Corsairs made through April 2024. Mine was built in June 2024, bought in Dec 2024, stopped being able to be charged via 240V power in July and will not be addressed by Ford and the dealer as it is not included in the recall. To date the OEM adapter for charging with 120 V and the charging cord have been demonstrated to be not at fault and my suspicion is that the battery needs to be replace. A simple software update and test would address the safety of the battery being charged even with 120V power. Please, revise or issue a recall to include all built after October 24, 2019

The contact owns a 2024 Lincoln Corsair. The contact stated that while his wife was attempting to park while shifted into reverse, the vehicle launched forward, accelerated independently, and collided with another vehicle that was parked, colliding with the other vehicle's front passenger side. The other vehicle was moved forward approximately three feet. The vehicle kept moving forward, the contact's wife turned off the vehicle, and the vehicle came to a stop. No warning lights illuminated. The driver’s and passenger’s side air bags did not deploy. There was no property damage. A police report was filed. The contact's wife sustained emotional distress. The other vehicle was unoccupied, and there were no injuries to anyone else. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was pending unknown repairs. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a claim was submitted. The failure mileage was 5,000.
