I was making a u-turn onto a busy 4 lane highway which the speed limit was 45mph. Once I made my turn the truck starting putting and not going over 5mph. There was a very loud smell of gas. I barely made off the highway away from the incoming traffic. On the dash Restricted Performance was illuminated. I had to get the vehicle towed. I was terrified because my daughter and I commute everyday and that issue with fuel could have been horrific. I called the dealer they advised me that the part for the recall is depleted and it could be weeks or even months before they hear anything.
The vehicle is leaking fuel close to the inside of the rear tire by the gas cap side. When I pump gas it doesn’t just drip, it’s pouring out the bottom of the vehicle and running down wires and parts of the car.
At the beginning of the year my car started going into limp mode and shutting down. I had it inspected and the purge valve was faulty and I paid to have it replaced in august 2021. In the past month it’s started dying while driving, mostly as I’m pulling up to a stoplight. The engine will sputter and it will completely die while…

At the beginning of the year my car started going into limp mode and shutting down. I had it inspected and the purge valve was faulty and I paid to have it replaced in august 2021. In the past month it’s started dying while driving, mostly as I’m pulling up to a stoplight. The engine will sputter and it will completely die while the car is in drive which means I loose controll of the steering wheel even while it’s still moving. I just had it inspected and it’s the same issue, the purge valve I’ve just replaced is stuck closed. So this will be the 3rd purge valve this car has had in a 4 month period. I’m afraid this is going to cause me to have an accident and it’s the same thing over and over so it sounds like it’s a faulty part.

SAFETY RECALL N623: Gasoline Fuel Tank Flange Assembly Cracking WHY is this recall not showing when I enter my VIN number here? Vehicle was towed back to house November 24th, 2021 after discovering it was leaking gas all over the Walmart parking lot. I have been smelling gas inside the vehicle and on the outside passenger side of the vehicle for almost 2 months! I saw no visible evidence to prompt concern until November 24th. When I called AAA to have the car towed they asked me to call 911 to clear the car from “risk of explosion” before it could be towed. I have been trying to call the Land Rover dealership to get my car in for this repair and they can’t get me in until the end of January!?! How is this acceptable!? I’ve been driving this car around like this for two months.. possibly longer.. with my TODDLER! And I’m being told by AAA, my mobile mechanic and this ‘Safety Recall Letter’ that the car is at risk of explosion!? I have the “Important Safety Recall” letter in my hands right now that outlines my exact issue and it literally says.. “there could be liquid fuel underneath the vehicle, which in the presence of an ignition source could lead to a fire.” This is unacceptable! I don’t have a vehicle now. I can’t work. Not working isn’t an option. Not having a reliable and safe vehicle I can count on isn’t an option. I can’t get my car in for the necessary repairs in a timely manner. I’m just stuck. There is no ideal time for this issue to arise but right before Christmas!? I can’t even think of the appropriate words to communicate the level of havoc and life f**kery this is causing. I’m literally here reporting this issue because of the letter I received and now I’m infuriated this recall isn’t even listed on y’all’s website. Who sends out an “Important Safety Recall” letter that casually mentions the car could catch on fire and then just doesn’t put the recall into full effect!? What’s my next step? Attorney. SMELL OF FUEL ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF VEHICLE, GET NOTICEABLY STRONGER AFTER DRIVING VEHICLE. AFTER INSPECTING AROUND THE TOP OF THE FUEL TANK I FOUND FUEL SQUIRTING OUT OF THE FUEL FILTER/PUMP WHICH IS SEATED IN THE TOP OF THE FUEL TANK. I HAD GONE ON LINE TO ASSISTED ME IN TRACKING DOWN THE ISSUE AND FOUND THIS IS A COMMON REPORTED ISSUE. MY VEHICLE ONLY HAS 111337 MILES ON THE ODOMETER AND I NOTICED A LOT OF THESE REPORTED ISSUE ARE FOR LAND ROVER VEHICLES THAT HAVE AROUND THE SAME MILAGE.

Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain 2010-2011 Range Rover Sport vehicles. The upper cover on the rear spoiler may detach from the vehicle.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: If the spoiler detaches while driving, it can become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Land Rover will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the spoiler assembly. If the spoiler has not delaminated, a new adhesive will be applied to fully secure the upper spoiler cover. If the outer surface of the rear spoiler has detached, been lost or damaged, a new spoiler will be installed. The repairs will be performed free of charge. Final Owner letters were mailed May 21, 2021. Owners can contact Land Rover customer service at 1-800-369-1000. Land Rover's number for this recall is N499.

The Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened PE20-018 on November 5th, 2020, to investigate fuel leak allegations in vehicles equipped with fuel tank outlet flange Part Number AH229039AB. ODI based the investigation on six consumer complaints it had received and, using information gathered from RQ19-004, five field reports and 200 warranty claims in the subject vehicles. At the closing date of PE20-018, the number of related complaints received by ODI has risen to fifteen. In response to an ODI Information Request (IR) letter, Land Rover identified: 57 additional warranty claims (257 total), four additional consumer complaints (ten total), and five dealer field reports.Land Rover?s internal investigation identified a cyclic fuel pressure condition that led to cracks forming in the outlet flanges, resulting in fuel leaks. Fuel tank outlet flange revisions to the subject AH229039AB component increased the rigidity of the outlet flange in the area experiencing the highest stress. As Land Rover continued to assess field returned components, they identified cracks in the vicinity of subsurface voids in the subsequent AH229039AC and AH229039AD fuel tank outlet flanges.Based on the information gathered, Land Rover`s Recall Determination Committee (RDC) elected to recall vehicles with the subject fuel outlet flange and expanded the scope to include all vehicles equipped with fuel outlet flange Part Numbers AH229039AA, AH229039AB, AH229039AC, and AH229039AD. Land Rover will replace the previously listed part numbers with an updated designwhich reduces the pressures exerted on the fuel flange. The Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) analyzed complaints received from the public and complaint data submitted by Jaguar Land Rover North America (JLR) in response to the Information Request (IR) letter for PE20-007. ODI identified a total of 132 non-duplicative reports alleging incidents in which the spoiler cover detached from the certain Range Rover vehicles while in motion, including 3 resulting in broken windshields, 6 involving detached spoilers striking trailing vehicles with damage unknown, and 4 in which the subject vehicle driver observed trailing traffic swerve to avoid the detached part. ODI?s analysis of warranty data submitted by JLR identified 266 claims to repair detached spoiler covers and 252 claims to repair loose covers. The subject vehicles are covered by a standard warranty of 4 years/48,000 miles. Analysis of part sales data found evidence of continued failures that may be related to the alleged defect after the warranty period, with 5,487 rear spoilers sold through May 2020. The number of spoiler sales related to the alleged defect is unknown.On October 8, 2020, JLR submitted a Defect Information Report (DIR) to NHTSA describing a defect in the adhesive bonding system of the rear spoiler covers in approximately 21,834 MY 2010 through 2011 Range Rover Sport vehicles manufactured from April 27, 2009 through March 28, 2011 (NHTSA Recall 20V-623, JLR Recall N499). JLR?s report states that the recalled vehicles have a bonding agent that has insufficient adhesive properties. After numerous heat cycles the spoiler cover may begin to loosen from air turbulence experienced during high-speed driving. If a loosened spoiler cover is not detected and repaired, the cover may detach from the vehicle while driving and become an airborne road hazard. Detachments are most likely to occur during high-speed driving. JLR's recall remedy will apply a new adhesive to properly secure the upper spoiler cover.This investigation is closed based on Recall 20V-623.
