The contact owns a 2022 KTM 390 Adventure R. The contact stated while riding approximately 10 MPH, the rear axle nuts and bolts detached and the rear tire wobbled. No warning lights were illuminated. The motorcycle was towed to the residence and had not yet been taken to an independent mechanic or local dealer to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 1,430.
KTM North America, Inc. is recalling certain 2022-2023 Husqvarna Svartpilen 401, Husqvarna Vitpilen 401, and 2022-2024 KTM 390 Adventure motorcycles. Water could enter the throttle (e-throttle) control unit and cause it to fail, resulting in loss of drive power.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: Loss of drive power while riding increases the risk of a crash or injury.
Remedy: KTM and Husqvarna dealers will inspect and replace the e-throttle control, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 30, 2026. Owners may contact KTM customer service at 1-888-985-6090. KTM's number for this recall is KTB2606 and HTB2603. The VINs involved in this recall became searchable on March 31, 2026.
