628 reportsMy vehicle has a safety recall and KIA hasn't sent me a paper of when this safety recall is going to be fixed. My vehicle automatically turns on and off the check engine light and I am unsure if it's because of the safety recall.
Electrical system keeps on shortening out the brake lights.

I have not had an "incident" because I have not driven this auto since I received the recall notice early April. KIA is crazy if they believe it is safe to drive while under constant threat of fire. I was hoping you could initiate another class action suit to force them to act, as it has been an unreasonable amt of time...5 and ½ months since recall date. Please help. I have contacted NHTSA, FTC, Attorney General, etc etc. NO ONE has responded other than to to issue a complaint report #.

Upon returning to my car less than 5 minutes later, a plume of white smoke and a small flame could be seen below the hood of the car. Within minutes the entire engine was engulfed in flames. I contacted KIA Headquarters in Irvine California to find out when the fuse would be available. I told them I was very concerned that my car could catch on fire. I also asked them when the part would be available, they couldn't tell me. The recall notice I received was dated March 31st, 2022. Having been in the service repair business myself I find it unacceptable that a fuse is not available for over some 60+ days. I still couldn't get an acceptable answer from KIA so I told them I was filing a complaint with you. My concern is the safety of me and my family for a simple fuse that will fix the problem. There are absolutely no warnings that my vehicle can catch on fire while driving or parked at home. I live in a retirement community where they do not want cars parked in the streets, they want them parked in your garage. That brings a large concern that my house can catch on fire. KIA seems to have absolutely no sense of urgency to fix this problem
I received a recall notice and nothing is being done about the problem, there has not been any action taken from the manufacturer! Please make them take action on this problem,[XXX]. INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

I was passing a car doing below 50 in a 55. As I sped to pass him the engine seemed to misfire, the car began to jerk and I suddenly lost power to the engine. I tried pressing on the gas pedal but engine was idle. I pulled to the side shut the engine off, waited a few minutes and tried to start the engine again. It did not want to turn over, sounded like a piston had blown. I had it towed to the family mechanic whom I take all my vehicles to. He ran a diagnostics and said piston #3 was getting no compression and I would need a new engine. I bought the vehicle brand new with 0 miles, the car now has 103,000 miles, just 3000 miles over warranty, which is why I took it to my mechanic and not the dealership. I bought the service contract from the dealership so it has been completely maintained as per contract at Future Kia in Clovis. My mechanic advised me to take it back to the dealer. I had it towed there and awaiting their diagnostics report.
